judges and peds, hes a very good fighter but he should have at least 1 more L on his record
Is Canelo's legacy tainted with the shady judging?

Judges, Catch weights, Canelo weights, Rehydration clauses, PEDs, Stacked Wraps, dropping belts, avoiding prime fighters and wait till they are at an age he himself wants to be retired.
Obviously this wont matter to the casuals and most of the media who are part of the agenda, but for most real fans it will beComment

there's been so many issues with Canelo, that I'm a life long fan and thought "stacked wraps? he never used...oh yeah!! That WAS a complaint!!!"Judges, Catch weights, Canelo weights, Rehydration clauses, PEDs, Stacked Wraps, dropping belts, avoiding prime fighters and wait till they are at an age he himself wants to be retired.

Luckily I dont think it has made too much impact on the outcomes of the individual fights so far. All of the decisions taken in isolation are reasonable decisions.
However, when a fighter has close fight after close fight without taking an L, you have to question it at some point. A coin flip wont land on heads every time unless you've got a dodgy coin.Comment

I am a Canelo fan and I think he is an excellent fighter who improves with every fight. I think he clearly gets favorable judging. I thought he beat Trout but not by the margins the scorecards said. I thought he lost both fights to GGG with the 2nd fight being close but still I thought he lost. Then there was that draw scorecard against Mayweather. I have not seen a scorecard that was unfair to Canelo but I have seen many scorecards that were unfair to his opponent. I do think he won all his fights that he got the win except the GGG fights.Comment

I think he's a creation but that doesn't mean he's not a good fighter. He's probably had the strongest industry backing for a guy that talent level ever. Leonard, De La Hoya, Tyson all got a big push and were the stars of their times (though except for Leonard not the best of their times) but they were super talents too. He's a level (or two) below as far as talent, skill and quality. The backing for him has included shady judges (whether you are biased and agree with them you gotta admit to funky scores in every fight. He was officially two rounds from a draw with Floyd in a fight he lost 11 or 12 rounds, he got a 10-2 vs. GGG in a fight he won 5 rounds at best and got a 9-3 in Lara a fight in which he won 6 at best), failed drugs tests and loving support because of them, catch-weight titles, missed weights but still allowed to fight for titles and rumors of losses scrubbed off of his record points to being a creation from a young age. Imagine what's not out in the open or public? I think it's probable there's a lot more dirt including years of PED usage. Even taking a challenge like Jacobs which he gets credit for is tainted because he's slapped a re-hydration clause on him just as he did that last bum he fought at 168 for his cherry picked interim title.
He has nutthuggers and he has the industry creaming over him for certain rea$on$ which covers up a lot but speaking from what I hear when I hear casual fans talk boxing the perception is that he's gotten decisions he didn't deserve and his fights are scripted in a sense with regards to scorecards. People already know boxing is like that and the perception is that Canelo is the guy that can do no wrong. He can fail tests, he can lose fights but he'll still have organizations making new belts for him and giving him decisions for being Canelo.
He's a good fighter, very good even. Nowhere near great and he's elite currently probably because boxing is at it's lowest point talent-wise of the gloved era but he is definitely a creation that's been carefully backed.Comment
