What tf was my point.. oh, as long as the same rules apply to both fighters thereīs no problem. - Canelo by late TKO, his ring IQ is way above DJs.
    ^^^^^^^ All day

Most expected GGG to body bag DJ and he didn't come close. If it's not a tactical fight, Nelo should be able to end him. If it is tactical, Nelo has the edge there too. Imho, DJ needs that hail mary.

Later Golden Boys matchmaker, Robert Diaz stated, “It’s still an IBF rule. On unifications it’s up to the discretion of fighter.

So, unless Canelo made some kind of stipulation in the contract, it is up to Jacobs. If it isn't up to Jacobs, Canelo is lying.

I will find it odd if they reinstate the rule as a one time deal for this particular fight. Let's see if this rule remains in effect for other unification fights. Thanks for sharing the link to the article.

Doesent matter since both Canelo and Jacobs are Big Big Middleweights. Its not like Canelo is coming to ring at 165 lol. They will be same weight around 175 when they enter ring

Yeah sure it was. And how much did you pay them to make that rule?

Haha, I cant believe Canelo is such a stonecold liar and certain people here believe him.

Golden Boy put the clause in the contract, Jacobs himself said.

IBF abolished the 2nd day weigh-in for unification fights 2 years ago.

If you paid any attention to Canelo you realized, when he was off the meat in the rematch, he was quite a bit slimmed down and is going for speed. He most probably was about 168-170 in the ring.

Jacobs is so much bigger, he will be drained at 170, probably a reason he performed so badly vs Derevyanchenko.

Yeah it seems they did remove that rule: https://www.boxingscene.com/ibf-abol...-bouts--119702

but if you check on the ibf website, under contest rules, they still have the second day weigh-in listed as a rule.

"There shall be a second weigh-in between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on the morning of the event, unless otherwise approved by the IBF.At this weigh-in, boxers cannot weigh more than ten (10) pounds over the weight limit..."

And at the top it says the uploaded this January 22nd 2019, and effective for January 2019, whereas that tweet was of them removing the rule was two years ago.

Hard to know who is lying.

You know that check weight thing was ignored by Jacobs that fight so IBF removed their sanction....
