Todays unpopular opinion from me:
I do NOT get the controversy. I personally feel weigh ins should be day of fight. If not, than ALL fights should have a rehydration clause short of HW. In my humble, unimportant opinion signing a contract to fight at a weight of between 160-167 as a MW means exactly that. If you rehydrate to 175, you should not be fighting for a 160 belt. Period.
This sport is not very unified, but even the lame organizations with hundreds of useless title belts agree on the weights. They are not secret. If you can't walk to the ring on fight night healthy, fit, and ready to brawl in that weight class, move up or down.Comment

The legit point to whatever outrage there is
I hope the feelings aren't taking over.
Which guy is supposed to have the advantage and WHY ?Comment

If both boxers meet the weight requirement during weigh in, I don't see why they shouldn't rehydrate.
If one of them strategically decides not to rehydrate perhaps due to speed or swiftness, then it's his own cup of tea.
Even at heavyweight where they are unlimited in terms of weight, some of them decide to cut down their weight strategically. Can you imagine that Wilder cut down on his weight to fight Fury who is more heavier than Ortiz.Comment

Canelo is lying but you have a point, IF they both do the 170 it shouldnīt matter much. Both are massive weight cutters so this hurts them both.Comment

Yeah this is a bit fughed up
Canelo is supposed to be the bigger guy so won’t it work against him
So how much does Jacobs go up in average after weigh in ?
I’m leaning towards the fact that if they both do the 170 it’s on fair grounds imoComment

No 170 rule in unifications so itīs not the IBF. Weight wont matter in this case as long as they both do it but in GGG vs Jacobs it almost did, I think the CW version of Jacobs that night was the best heīll ever be. What tf was my point.. oh, as long as the same rules apply to both fighters thereīs no problem. - Canelo by late TKO, his ring IQ is way above DJs.Comment
