If you can remember where you saw it, I'll believe that, but the only thing I've ever seen about the WBC Diamond Belt is that it's an honorary belt. It actually means nothing.

The fighters should say no these belts. It doesn't add anything because they're not world titles. It's nothing but a money grab because it makes no sense whatsoever.

We’re talking about the WBC here, they produce and hand out belts like pamphlets it’s not even a joke. It’s a very commercialized organization. Also they don’t have a database like the WBO’s pdf Pool where you can check years back. I didn’t mind what they were doing nor gave Bellew much credit where they ranked him after his exhibitions for Haye. I only cared about Usyk.

Don’t trust the WBC. I know for a fact I saw “Diamond” in their ranking sheet in 2017. Follow Boxrec the Diamond Belt at Cruiser starts in 2018. I don’t know what’s “Honorary” for Briedis vs Gevor. Do you?

fans will just never be happy. they'll complain about the orgs never ordering their champions to fight each other, but when the WBC found a way to make a unification mandatory, fans still complain.

the diamond belt is an honorary award, not a world championship. the spence/garcia winner will now be able to force a unification fight with the WBC world champion if they want to. why is that bad?

Because the WBC diamond champion is often able to demand to be made mandatory. So in the instance of Spence, who holds the IBF world title, he has no way of becoming the mandatory for another organization, except the WBC via the diamond title.
