Thanks for all the replies and votes, I'm getting a clearer picture of things now haha

As lparm says in that other thread, yeah it is crazy to think of the IBF belt being the most legit now. In my mind, I've always tended to hold the WBC as head-and-shoulders above the rest, but as time goes on, I'm starting to think that none of the belts mean anything, really. And that is a shameful state of affairs. Almost as shameful as this bump

The WBA with its super and regular title bull****. That's clear corruption. F them.

Voted WBA mostly for the recent fiasco with the regular and super featherweight belts, that was absolutely blatant corruption and probably the worst recent example. It was kind of hard to decide though, my skin crawls every time Suleiman publicly fellates Canelo, and I haven't forgotten the disgraceful incident with Sergio Martinez and JCC Jr. either. The IBF are probably the least corrupt, they just need to fix their bizarre rankings and stop ordering constant mandatories against no-hoper challengers.

Depends what day it is. All of them would act equally poorly given the opportunity. So it's just down to what opportunities exist really.

Never really understood the WBC being considered the best belt. It's it just people liking the colours?

Right now the WBC Heavyweight belt is the least prestigious due to Wilder holding it.

All sanctioning organizations have some degree of f.uckery that goes on

But as far as being corrupt how can anyone say anything other then the WBO. They know who butters their toast and they don’t even care if it looks obvious that they play favourites and appear corrupt . They to clearly appear to take orders from Arum and Warren. Fury goes to Espn / everyone but Zurdo thinks he’s vacated and what happens the same day magically Fury is positioned at #4 and seem to right in line to become the Mando . Saunders decides to move up and awarded the right to fight for a strap against a unknown German Uber driver. Liam Smith who had beaten nobody of substance gets to fight for a strap against a unknown no hoper with no good wins. When it’s time for Valdez to get a strap he gets to fight a unknown Argentinian Pig Farmer whod never fought outside of Argentina. They definitely don’t f.uck with Haymon Fighters Trout was in line for a strap when it’s time to make the fight for some reason without explanation they Remove him, And you can go on and on about the f.uckery they pull without shame or caring about the optics. It seems Arum/Warren Get first dibs but they’ll have other promoters except Haymon fighters get their strap probably on loan until it’s time for Arum/Warren to get it

Don’t get why people are saying WBC they definitely favour fighters that have a name in the sport but theyll have any promoters Fighters in the sport wear their strap. In a sport that is watched mostly because of the stars , It should almost be expected that they cater to them but it
Doesn’t appear that’s its done because of corruption but rather the big names are why people mostly watch sport so why not give the big names some wiggle room and play favourites Its probably better for the sport overall.but their insistence in big fights have them handing out some form of special trinket and calling it the Mayan / Golden / Diamond’Superior / Titanium or whatever belt is lame and not needed but I will say they always look sick and the May/PAC special strap was G’d up. But it isn’t a good look and down right embarrassing when Sauliman acts like a groupie for certain fighters and not like a impartial head of the organization.

The WBA thinks that a great idea in a already splintered sport is to offer 2 straps per division because that’s exactly what the sport needs and was done for the sports betterment and not to collect more sanctioning fees.

And the IBF make seem now to be the most above board. They’re so stubborn and always follow their rules to the T that it can often stripping Champs because they provide no wiggle room when following their rules even if that means by stripping them its worse for the sport and their organization. And that’s probably why they don’t get the same amount of boxers who have any clout who want to be rated by them which can often result in Mandos fighting for straps who have no reason fighting for a World Title and get absolutely boot f.ucked by the champ in which is often just a public execution.

Good post thanks, decent breakdown of the situation with each belt

The situation with the WBO re: Saunders is suspect, but it does seem that there was some misunderstanding around Zurdo's intentions to move up to 175, as to whether he wants to stay there or come back down?

                    Thanks

That’s how I see the Sanctioning Organizations operate , But I’m the farthest thing from a expert , just a opinionated fan

But How anyone can say any other organization besides the WBO as being the most corrupted or at least playing favourites beyond a acceptable level with a straight face is beyond me .

They don’t even try and be low profile they just constantly make blatant moves that can only be looked as suspect and seem to give no f.ucks how they are looked or perceived

I think Zurdo has Stated he’s moving up but hasn’t made it official or vacated . But the WBO wasted no time setting up a Warren fighter to fight for a strap against a C level opponent almost guaranteeing a Saunders W . They set it up so quick Zurdo didn’t even know he had vacated.

They obviously have some sort of problem with Haymon for some reason because none of his fighters have held a WBO strap in I don’t even know how long. I want to say since Quillen about 3-4 years ago and then gave it up instead of going to HBO to fight Korobov And when he fought against Lee to try and get it back after Lee pulled the upset . Quillen was straight robbed on the scorecards and the fight was somehow ruled a draw. for a guy having the largest stable literally almost none of his fighters in any weight class are ranked by them. But the biggest f.uck you ,and dont work with Haymon is aroiund 4 years ago Trout was in line for a vacant after Andrade was stripped and when it was time to make then fight for the vacant out of the blue he was removed from their rankings for no reason and no explanation given. And that conveniently had A Warren fighter Liam Smith fight against a no name no hoper for the strap. You couldn’t appear more corrupt or biased if you tried

I’m suprised no one in the media ever mentions the f.uckery they pulled through out the years . I don’t even know if I’ve ever heard anyone discuss the s.hit they pull all the time for showing obvious favouritism bordering on corruption doesn’t seem to matter to anyone , butn the WBA who always and rightfully so are always criticized for their 2 straps but that seems done more out of greed for fees not corruption/ favouritism.
