    and?

You still think they didnt weigh more than Floyd during the fight?

Floyd was still fighting at 147 at 38 years old. Floyd was not physical prime at 147. He didnt have the power that he did at 135. He was naturally smaller who moved up. That is undeniable.

Yes he moved up, and started his career at 130, but I’m also curious where SRL could have started his career at with previous day weigh ins. 135? He fought in the Am’s at 140 so I’m sure 135 would have been easy

Regardless though, my original post in here was about Duran beating Floyd, and I stand by that.

lmao Benitez is not Mayweather. Benitez controlled distance at much closer range than Floyd and was almost imperceptible with his movement. Floyd is the better athlete of the two but he is much more predictable and a much easier target for Duran. I totally disagree. Comparing Mayweather and Benitez is like saying that pink and red are the same color. If Zab Judah, Demarcus Corley, Shane Mosley and Marcos Maidana could time Floyd you better believe Robert Duran could do it. Roberto Duran's animal planet like ability to close distance ALONE would have caused Floyd fits. Duran had extremely fast feet. You really don't understand these fighters. Clearly.

Let's just make it a P4P matchup since it would be SOO unfair to match Floyd against the skinniest and least experienced versions of Hearns and Leonard from early in their careers when they were actual Welterweights against the welterweight version of Floyd who was a battle tested veteran in his late 20's and 30's.
WW is WW, what is wrong with these clowns, excuses never stop flowing
Do these clowns think floyd should get a concession for being smaller at the same weight, Marquez was smaller than floyd, pacquaio started his career about 4 divisions below floyd, should he get a concession

I love may, but he's not close to top ten of only bc of the rate he chose to fight. Retired twice, fought slideshows with mm a fighters, no rate was atrocious after he left lightweight. sugar day Robinson is who you're comparing him to. Sugar Ray Leonard and the likes. These guys fought murderers row and fought often and went for kos. He doesn't sniff that tier of fighters because he valued the money over the sport.

It is funny when people talk about Floyd they judge him for what he was doing when he was early to mid to late thirties! lol. Like he has no prime. Everyone always brings up "Tommy Hearns Would have stretched him" Well Tommy was a great fighter, and a very big welter weight who ended up at Cruiser weight. When Ray leonard was in his thirties he was getting stopped by Terry Norris and Hector Comacho. Floyd was I guess using his boxing talents and winning fights.

Floyd Mayweather went undefeated in 5 divisions and 4 lineal titles, and fought the likes of Mosley, Corrales, Castillo, Pacquiao etc. etc. The only problem I have with Floyd is his resume which lacks a prime HoF, but you can't deny that Floyd did much better than most across the last 25 - 50 years.

Floyd should be ATLEAST top 20, and I have him personally at top 14, with Pacquiao 13. Both him and Pacquiao made history, that none in any era did, but so called "boxing fans" only likes to put them at 30+

What went wrong with Floyd's 5 weight division world champion climb, 4 lineal title grabs, and retiring 49-0 (I dont count McGregor)

What went wrong with Manny's 8 weight division climb, 5 lineal grab and retiring with 60+ wins?

Is the standard of these two that high that we don't give them the proper due? Or are we just gonna be just blind to the facts that only nostalgia of older fighters are keeping these two from their just due?
It is all Opinion at the end of the day BUT with Mayweather yes he is a GREAT BUT Mayweather ERA wasn't GREAT and did not produce many "GREATS" that he actually FOUGHT. Even the fighters people accuse Mayweather of Ducking I don't think doesn't much to help stack his resume up with a Ray Leonard or Hitman Hearns.

Fans kind want to adjust the criteria for greatness based on who they're fans of and it doesn't work that way. The High Standard and Criteria remains the same! In fact, the Standards are even HIGHER for the American fighters because of the Rich History in American Boxing.

Mayweather is a ALL TIME GREAT but his ERA wasn't great and did not produce many GREATS especially compared to a Ray Leonard ERA

Floyd beats him with his hand speed, master defense and reflexes all of which he does better than Duran.

Floyd has shown that he does well against presure fighters in his career and he would just counter Duran all night and Floyd has a great chin, he would fight smart he wouldn't do what Leonard did and try to brawl with him, he would fight to his strengths and win a UD.
