Was he being honest when he said after 2nd fight Canelo deserved to win & hes a true legit champ?

Can you provide a reference for this? From what I saw I think Abel was being charitable to Canelo in a close but clear fight win for GGG. But he respected Canelo and the way he fought, and wanted to be gracious. He knew going in that in Vegas, as he just referenced here, that you probably have to do more to get a decision over Canelo.

Yeah well he’s contradicting hisself as always! He did say that DJ was the second best middle weight after ggg and that Canelo would never fight him because if he did he would lose. Why so much flip flop Abel?

Maybe he thought DJ was at the time, and maybe he is still is, we will find out. And he was right about Canelo losing lol.

Also saying stuff to promote your guy is different than giving an objective opinion on something that doesn't involve your guy.

Canelo should win. He has a good chin and the only way he can lose is by ko. Such a nice luxury for a boxer to have. Just don't get ko'd, fight hard for about 30 seconds of each 3 min round, and you won't lose.

True...I do think Canelo's stamina looked better in the 2nd GGG fight...will be interesting to see his performance here...Danny's too

Looks like about the same damage besides the cut from the headbutt in round 12.

But nah that fight he had with Ouma was a phone booth war. He took a lot more damage from Ouma but he also basically ended Ouma's career. My favorite GGG fight.
