wilder got hit with a big shot...he was hurt...stunned...and it put him out of position and the perfect position for his opponent to pounce and be one punch ahead of him

its a position weve seen many fighters in...even the great ones...sometimes guys get stopped in that spot..sometimes they weather it and survive to see the next round

had wilder gotten caught with another big shot during the ortiz onslaught he would have been in some trouble...but he didnt and he wasnt

by all accounts this means floyd was badly hurt and almost stopped by shane.....floyd was stunned and hurt...but never badly hurt and almost stopped and dominated the rest of the fight.....as you can see even defensive/technical fighters get caught....loma got dropped by linares...p4p two division champ ward got dropped....and got up and then made kovalev quit in a rematch....

but all of the sudden wilder is a bum cause he ate a good clean shot and then weathered an onslaught?

absurd...some of you are really sad

    LOL
What you bringing this up for? Nothing wrong with getting smashed up by Ortiz, why you feel the need to defend it? But seeing as we are talking about it all i know is the referee was the closest man to the action and he must of felt that Wilder was in a very bad way as he took him over to let the doctor look at him. Ortiz had been dropped by that point and again after and the referee never bothered to call him over to the doctor once. So Wilder must of been a worse state than Ortiz after being knocked down.

Or is there another reason why Wilder was taken to the doctor while a side affect of that care for his safety was basically just giving Wilder extra recovery time cuz he was in a **** state and they thought it was about time they needed to do a touch of cheating to help save him from getting stopped in the 8th.

Either way Wilder was a mess and could barely stand, fair play to him he stayed standing after getting knocked near senseless and attempted to smother Ortiz and that was good Boxing that should be acknowledged but lets not try to pretend he was just a little stunned or a little rocked. The man was ****ed.

Idk if he was 'badly' hurt but he was definitely hurt.
You don't stop throwing punches for like 90 seconds unless you're recovering for being hurt.
