Would Duran had beaten this version of Spence. Sure Leonard is much more skilled than Spence but Spence is physically stronger and more powerful. P4P I favor Duran but I think at 147 Spence stops him. Spence is just too big and strong and his motor is just as if not better than Durans. Thoughts?

Lets look at the times Duran had been knocked out

Tommy Hearns, huge size disadvantage, fought at 154 Hearns was incredibly strong having knocked out fighters from 147 all the way to 190

William Joppy, huge size disadvantage fought at 160, and Duran was 49 years old. The fight shouldn't have even been sanctioned.

Remember that Duran started his career as a bantamweight too. The guys chin was unreal.

Why do people say that? If that's the Case, Hagler and Leonard get no credit for beating Duran

Well at the time Leonard and Hagler did recieve criticism over their fights with Duran. In retrospect, they look like decent wins. But if you look anything less than perfect beating a guy who jumps two weights to fight you, you get stick. And if you win people say "so what?". Look at how Golovkin got it over taking some shots off Brook. Despite the fact lighter guys often have the advantage in speed.Look at how little Marlon Starling gave a very good champ in Michael Nunn a good run for hes money. But its still the perception that you should blow a smaller man away.

You also have to take in consideration styles. Duran is tailor made for Spence. Like Spence is tailor made for Duran. But I feel this is one of those situations where size and strength wins the day.

Taylor made for spence ? Explain yourself ? The only fighter duran was made for was tommy hearns but tommy was almost 6ft 2 and had a reach if 78 inches.

What one have a tendency to forget is that Duran was just not a slugger. He was also very crafty and guile. Yes, in my opinion he would have had a much better chance of defeating Errol Spence than Mikey Garcia because of his experience, seasoning and lastly by being the overall more fundamentally sound of the two fighters; Between himself and Mikey Garcia.

Rather than the hagler or Leonard fights, this is the fight that makes the case for Duran beating Spence.

However we almost certainly haven't seen Spence's ceiling yet either.
