Thats true I wouldn't be at all surprised if Mikey beat him & I think Spences the best current welter, but I also see that hes completely beatable & nowhere near proven enough to be seen as on another level. Hes just a defensively skillful southpaw who hits hard more than its his amazing ability like past ww's.

Nothing wrong with sticking to the basics if you do 'em well enough... the flash and the eye candy are all well and good, but only if they improve your chance of winning. Sound fundamentals is what wins fights, not bolo punches or Ali shuffles.

Just seeing if there was some hidden meaning for ''basic'' in his context.

''I'm not impressed with how he fights but he fights very well.''

It is an odd kinda comment though, isn't it? Maybe he just means there's no wizardry there - no special tricks or balletic footwork, no phenomenal athleticism or speed - nothing, in short that they can't prepare for.

Bit like when Floyd said of GGG 'straight up and down, no special effects' - I mean, yeah, you could take it as a diss if you chose (and maybe Floyd meant it that way) but really it's just more of a description.

Probably the worse trash talking between 2 camps.....I hope they're not this uncoordinated in the ring.

I think it's close between him and Crawford in that department. None of them have particularly fast hands.
40 year old Pacquiao still has faster hands. Also, Thurman.
