Team Garcia seems to think Mikey Garcia got prime Roy Jones or PBF level talent. Mikey is a great fighter but has average talent to me . He has good all around skills but there isn't one particular thing he does amazing.

Listening to his camp you'd think Mikey got lightening hand speed, fast feet, amazing punching power in both hands, etc.... Reality is that is how I would describe Spence not Mikey!!!

I like Mikey but he has no advantages in this fight, I'm not going to bend the laws of physics in his favor, Mikey is a good guy but he chose wrong.

Great assessment now we just have to sit back and see what unfolds and give credit when credit is due.
Everyone is saying that Mikey will get walk down and taking out and he's too small to compete but let's just wait and find out if he is capable just like Pacquiao

Mikey is good but he is pretty basic himself as others mentioned. What does he do that’s so extraordinary? I cant think of any. He is a txtbook fighter.

I concur totally with Garcia.... So if theyre both "basic"? Spence is naturally bigger & stronger so I don't see how a little fleet footedness from Mikey with extra bulk weighing him down is gonna make him win this fight.

Spence with his tight defence, is gonna go for the kill when Mikey has to undoubtedy reach in to counter.

I'm not sold on Spences versatility or so called #1 status @ welter, but I'm sold on him eventually catching up to Mikey in bomb like fashion with his solid rangy cool lookin' delivery of the "basics."

Robert is exactly right, both Errol and Mikey are basic. Not flashy but very good at what they do.

I do not see Mikey winning this one... but I can see them trying to win this by counter punching or becoming the slick, stick and move fighter...even then the odds are just not looking good for mikey....

lol Garcia is even more basic than Spence. I mean almost all of his offense is just simple 1-2's. It works for him because he has good timing and accuracy but still.

I think it's close between him and Crawford in that department. None of them have particularly fast hands.

Danny Garcia has faster hands than Spence as does Thurman.
Spence is probably somewhere in the middle of the barrel among the 147 class speed wise.
