Any guess why Frank Warren decided to join ESPN, not Showtime?

    It's common sense to assume that when you're the one who was approached
    in any kind of negotiation, you automatically gain the upper hand.
    Out of desperation Finkel and his mysterious friends contacted Warren for the Fury fight.
    Frank would have played hard-to-get, dictated his terms,
    which included a UK venue, and Finkel would still have said yes.
    But none of that happened.
    Fury was guarranteed $3 mil, while Deontay, $4 mi..
    What the hell happened?
    Would experienced promoters like Arum, even Dibella, would have
    let that happen?

      Warren didn't have the muscle, the infrastructure, experience, whatever you call it, to stage big fights, thus he needed someone or a network to have all those things. He didn't find it in Espinoza, Haymon and Finkel to acquire them due to a maze of conflicting entity affiliations.

      He's been allied with Top Rank long before it became official.

        It’s all about having someone to back him in the bargaining table. Where A.J had DAZN and Wilder has Showtime. Fury did not have a major network to back him. Also why the hate on the deal. People always praise Wilder for making the money when people criticize his weak resume. People being upset because they know Haymon fighters dont fight in other networks.
