Fair question. I would argue strongly that it established a floor on deciding if co ppvs are worth it or not based on the amount we have seen in the history of the sport. The first two co ppvs did 1.97 and 4.6 mil buys respectively. The first wilder and fury fight did about 300k. I’ll be generous and say the rematch does double even though there’s no basis for that happening, the second ward kovalev fight did less and I thought the first was entertaining, I don’t see two broadcasters as large as showtime and ESPN seeing the point in working together for the sake of 600k buys. Personally I would think they’d find it a bit embarrassing if anything.
Secondly and most importantly wilder has no contractual obligation to showtime. So why throw a spanner in the works by insisting showtime need to be involved when there’s no legal obligation for them to be?Comment

The fight is a dud , wilder will be without an opponent and fury will fight B grade heavyweights fed to him by frank warren.
Once again AJ rises about all the peasantsComment

Top Rank hasn't even commented as to whether they are going to put an offer together for the rematch. Why skip to Wilder better agree to fight on ESPN prematurely. Warren and Arum said more about being in control and being backed by ESPN than they did about the rematch. Heck, one of them even hinted that there was no rush to do the rematch next.Comment

The problem was instigated by Fury. Wilder has a longstanding relationship with Showtime and shouldn't throw that down the drain unless they are unwilling to give him a hell of a deal as well.Comment

Those two can fight peasants now and make 20million dollars plus. If Wilder fights peasants he would be making what 2/3m dollars?Comment

Well they better give him a great deal, the other top two guys are making a lot of money per fight. Wilder currently doesn't unless he fights those two.

So what you're saying is Fury should bend to Wilders terms again like he did in the first fight? Even though Wilder is a free agent? GTFOH.Comment

The PBC's "other side of the street" excuse went down the toilet...fast.
Someone needs to tell Errol, Danny, Porter and Thruman. the "other side of the street" is ducking. No more, no less. I give Wilder credit. If ESPN were smart, they'd make sure the PBC understands that Wilder's ONLY shot at redemption means no more games. Haymon needs to allow Danny, Porter, Spence and Thurman to receive a record pay day fighting Terrance Crawford because in the end, there is no other side of the street...ALL of the PBC fighters are Network FREE.
Because it needed to be saidComment
