There's only two heavyweights currently listed under Topranks banner, Jennings and Joseph Parker. More than likely Fury's first fight is Jennings, followed by possibly Parker, which Arum no doubt tried to sell as a big fight. Other than that, I'm not really sure who else Fury can fight. Warren only has two more Heavyweights and they are both under 20 fights. This entire interview is basically Arum explaining why the fight will not happen. I guess it's Breazele then maybe Whyte for Wilder. Hopefully that culminates in him and AJ spring of 2020. Fury will be looking to fight the winner after his contract runs out in late 2020. If what they said holds true, if Fury fights 3 times this year then his third fight next year will be as a free agent, which would line up perfectly to fight the winner of Wilder vs. AJ if the fight happens in 2020.Comment

your right, Fury sounds like he used this move to duck the rematch & face some pulevs/whytes etc. of the world instead. Nothing new with top rank fighters choosing to put themselves on an island where they can face C/D levels for big bucks with a built in excuse for ducking. I thought Fury deserved the W the 1st fight & likely the 2nd too,but getting dropped by Wilder jars your brain.
As soon as a fighter signs with Arum I know they'll fight nothing but lower levels for ages. Goodbye Fury
So just because Crawford's run has ******, whether to protect him until he got to big $ fights at WW or because they don't trust his chin or just because of politics, who knows which reason is the real one, don't group everyone else in with him. TR generally takes a lot more matchmaking risks than PBC does. Just look at Beltran-Pedraza for one, Jose Ramirez almost losing his last fight vs an undefeated slick southpaw opponent, and so on. Loma getting dropped by Linares. You would never see a PBC superstar put in with a non-PBC fighter like Linares the first fight a division above without any sort of catchweight or messing up what gloves Linares could wear or **** like that. Loma just went right up and fought him on an even playing field at 135. That just never happens with PBC fighters vs a GBP or TR fighter. So you can't compare Arum and PBC. Arum wants to make Loma vs Tank or Mikey, it's PBC that wont entertain EITHER of the big fights to be made at EITHER 130 OR 135, just like they wouldnt entertain LSC vs Loma at 126 after Loma beat the other best guy at 126 GRJ. It's been this way forever with PBC so screw PBC and stop defending them or grouping Top Rank in with them when I just explained Top Rank actually is willing to make those fights, it's PBC that refuses to make them and even admits openly they want no part.Comment

Here’s to hoping arum and Haymon work together for this one and possibly open the door to Crawford-Spence as wellComment

The Wilder-Fury purse bid is now pointless.
The problem with Wilder going to a purse bid is that it's binding for him (he would lose his belt if he doesn't adhere to the purse bid) but Fury could simply ignore it. The WBC has literally no leverage over Fury.
I suspect the WBC was told the Fury deal with Top Rank was imminent. The WBC had twice delayed the purse bid deadline and then finally cancelled it. They don't want to put Wilder in that situation either.Comment
