Mismatch! How long will FOX hang around?

PBC has a real chance to get boxing back on the front page in the US with the FOX network. If last night is an example, Fox won't be around long. I realize their best matchups are for Showtime/PPV but they have the stable to do much better than last night. You can't even use the late replacement angle. The no hoper Santa Cruz beat up is a better fighter than the one he was originally set to fight.

If PBC takes care of business, we can have regular boxing on again.

First two shows on FOX and the one on FS1 were good with a bunch of competitive and entertaining fights. And the viewership numbers were solid as well.

I watched the NBA All Star Weekend events yesterday so didn't catch the card yesterday. No clue if the fights were entertaining or not. This card even originally had a bad mismatch main event. The next FOX card should be much better with Porter vs Ugas. Now that's a good competitive main event on paper. I don't think FOX has had much to complain about in the early going with the new deal.

DAZN and ESPN have plenty of mismatches too. Its not something that's unique to PBC. Haymon has been responsible for plenty of mismatches over the years though and so has Arum. You can't really put one over the other.

They are bringing viewers to boxing and pulling solid if not great ratings. The Charlo/Thurman cards were entertaining and the Omar/Molina fight was entertaining even if not top competition. Garcia/Granados and Porter/Ugas will also do good numbers. Their FS1 cards are pretty good to watch too. Can't expect p4p fights on each card. They do need to fix their announcing crew and controversial cards are unfortunately a part of boxing no matter which network

There's absolute truth in that but currently PBC are the only ones doing boxing shows on regular network television in the US. I want this to continue and if they keep putting on more mismatches like last night, it won't. And I don't see why (with their vast stable)PBC can't deliver a much better product than last night's card.

Why wouldn't this continue when the start of the new deal has been very good? Like I said, the first three cards have had nothing but good competitive fights. And FOX is paying about half of what they used to pay the UFC. The numbers aren't all that off of what the UFC was doing towards the end of their deal. Granted, I can't imagine this card doing good numbers with a terrible mismatch that went against the All Star weekend events.
