No because fans will just say big deal you beat the much smaller man who you were heavily favored to beat anyways. It's a lose lose for Spence. You win you won't get much props you struggle fans will say you overrated you struggled with the little man. If god forbid he loses...

Only thing he gains is a good payday and quality name on his resume but there will be qualifiers on his win because of the weight so whatever you thought of him before you will think the same if he wins. His stock can ONLY go down if he struggles or somehow loses.

Spence could not possibly believe that. It's just pre-fight talk.

I agree too and hope that's the case.

You are correct. What you do not hear from anyone though, is any credit at all for Spence taking this fight with the risk involved. All we hear is praise for Mikey and people chastising Spence for taking the challenge. A struggle or loss will be devastating for his career. The only thing that would save that would be M. Garcia going on to beat the rest of the welterweights.

Everybody wants a piece of the top level guys for the belts and the payday, the champ isn’t obligated to answer every single challenge. If Charlie Zelenoff started calling Spence out would he have to fight him on the headline of a big bill? Is he really fighting Spence because he has to answer his challenge for the sake of his pride, or is it because he feels like he can make big money from an easy matchup? I think it’s the latter.
Man you're long winded smh. All I was saying is that your wording is misleading and I think you know it. Spence did not "Chase" Mickey Garcia. So you saying it is spreading a false narrative so you should stop.

He makes fun of Terrence Crawford for beating Lightweights and Super Lightweights...saying it's all smoke and mirrors...yet Errol is saying he'll be "the guy in the sport" for literally beating a Lightweight.

And that's aside from him hiding "across the street"

It's not gonna make Spence the man, but it would be a decent scalp.

I'm not a fan of Mikey taking this fight since he has better business, but still kudos to him. He CAN win, and we need to see guys taking risks. Nobody does so anymore. Chasing greatness, that's what it's about.

He gets no credit because he's such a massive favorite.

And he's a massive favorite because he's so much larger than his opponent...

Mikey is 5'6.5" with a 68" reach while Errol is 5'9" with a 72" reach

Mikey started his career at FEATHERWEIGHT (126) and has fought at JWW (140) twice ever...and he looked like a little fatty in both of those fights. Just about all of his fights in the past few years have been at 135, including his most recent win.

Can’t wait to watch you execute him, never seen a public execution live but I will in a couple more weeks!

                    • No of course not. Not yet anyway, but there's one good thing that can happen if he wins in spectacular fashion. It should help him paved the way for a Pacquiao sweepstake and one-up/steal that opportunity from Thurman who is now practically begging to fight this old man.

If he beats Pacquiao in utter domination then he has a chance to be the guy in the sport. Because now everyone will line up to him, they will have no choice--they won't avoid him anymore.

Thurman will come begging, Porter, Garcia and everyone will be there and then when he's finished with all these PBC guys, his name is now big enough that it's probably time for a Crawford fight, the pot will be big enough to satisfy both groups and Errol will be the clear A-side in that negotiation whether Arum would like it or not.
