Could Cain Velasquez have been the Mexican (-American) HW champ?

    6'1", 240 lbs

Mexicans have been dominant in the lower weight classes but never had a true Heavyweight threat could Cain have been the man had he gone into boxing?

    No.

UFC fighters couldn't box if their lives depended on it.

I dont think so. But who knows? If he had boxed as a kid instead of wrestling, it’s possible. He has an unreal will and gas tank for his size. Hard to tell though. His height isn’t as big a detriment in mma because of his wrestling and different aspects of the sport.

Although a crazy athlete, it translates better to mma than boxing with his particular gifts/assets.

Hard to envision him as a fluid mover like a world class hw boxer... i can’t see it. I cant picture a word where he’d have beat Wlad or AJ now.

            Lol, MMA trash.

Could Ronda beat Floyd in a fight?
Can Conor McGregor KO Floyd with DAT LEFT HAND DOE?!!!
If Artem Lobov focused on boxing since the age of 3 could he have been a 5 division champion?

You ain't getting a 6'1 wrestler HW champion in boxing. AJ beats him down and Fury embarrasses the midget.

"B-b-but what if he trained boxing 25 hours a day 8 days a week for 100 years?"

Yeah well what if he was 8 foot 10 and had a 120 inch reach and could fly? Gay ****** questions

I love how he did Lesnar, that was shortly before I gave up on MMA forever and stuck with boxing full time, but Cain would get bodied by C-level club fighters.

Elite lions like Miller, Hammer, Chisora, Wilder, Fury, and even paper champs like AJ would handle Cain, and get him out of there.

The best strikers in MMA would bet ruined by low level boxers, the gap in talent for standup striking is gargantuan.

That's it, they done woke me up with this BS, I'm off to bump the thread where Fury bodies MMA fighters.

If he'd trained in boxing from the start, who knows. He's obviously got some natural power and shot selection which is a good start

hell no. He relies a lot on wrestling and ground and pound in MMA.

Dudes would jab him to death

Of course not. The heavyweight boxing champion of the world must make at least 50 times as much money as he does. If he was good enough at boxing to the the world champion he would be a boxer.
