This weekend also shows you where boxing stands in the pecking order of ratings. Got idiots trying to pretend like it's great that Thurman who has been the biggest name and star under PBC headlines a card that draws 1.98M viewers on National TV with boatloads of advertisement on FOX mind you. Meanwhile MINOR League Football just drew 3.3M with little to no advertisements and no star players just players cut from real NFL teams. PBC can't even crack 2M viewers with their top names which would be HORRIBLE ratings for NFL HORRIBLE for College Football HORRIBLE for NBA, ect. For example the last week of regular season games for College Football drew 4M-9M avgs on National TV. Last week regular season games for NFL drew 9-12M avg on National TV. Minor League Football drew 3.3M. Hell there are preseason NFL games draw higher ratings then PBC.

Not always an NBA and football game. That's why I mentioned AAF if anything would have impacted it the most. This time of the year there is NBA and UFC, but for the first time we got this new AAF league. But even if there was no AAF game, the ratings wouldn't have been great regardless.

Mares has a solid name and for sure when he went out it took some luster off the fight. I mean let’s be real, this was seen as an mismatch by some in the first place, but Mares was at least a name, opposed to Ruiz.

LMAO oh you mean the minor league football league with players that couldn't crack a NFL roster and had little to no advertisement. A weak UFC PPV and a random NBA game. Stop it. This card barely avg over 300K viewers meanwhile Top Rank went head to head also with Minor League football and a little thing called the Grammy's which drew 19.9Million viewers and still the top Rank card avg more then double the viewers.

It's not about what else was on TV. It's about Davis not being a draw (hell the crowd was a Mares crowd. they booed Davis fans had already bought tickets to root for Mares for the replacement). GGG not only got a replacement he SWITCHED the entire venue and state last minute and still drew well OVER 1M viewers to see him fight a bum.
No **** ESPN did better than Showtime.

The ****ing NFL Draft gets higher ratings than PBC. MLB games get higher ratings than PBC.

****, even NHL games get higher ratings than PBC.

It pains me to say this, but boxing is near the bottom in terms of interest in the US.

Not just better but a lot better going up head to head with the MIGHTY Alliance Football and the Grammy's is tougher then Alliance Football and a minor UFC card and any other programming you want to bring up it won't total the 20M the Grammy's just pulled. So don't tell me the Showtime ratings are down because of Minor League Football when ESPN went up against that and more and still did respectable numbers for headliners that nobody is calling the NEXT PPV star like idiots are claiming Davis is. LMAO

Most times a trash fight gets you trash ratings. Not really hard to predict.

He had better fighters available for late replacement.
Maybe next time he'll fight someone with a pulse instead of a blown up bantamweight.
