Not sure if they're saying he got £2.5m basic pay, then donated £7m from the PPV revenue to charity. Also, you bunch of fooking morons, he likely didn't just hand it over to some fatcat business man. He is always seen out and about in his local community in Morecambe, and the wider Lancashire area. He probably is on the ground giving this money to worthwhile causes. Charity could also be considered helping the less fortunate in the travelling community. As if he just gave it away to some private charity owner.

When you know you have a gig or two coming up which pays you this much again or more, you can give this away in the confidence that there's plenty more where that came from.

That said, it is a wonderfully generous thing and hopefully it is put to good use.
