  • Comments Thread For: Marcos Maidana Planning Ring Return With PBC

Former two division world champion Marcos 'El Chino' Maidana (35-5, 31 KOs) is planning to return to the ring in the coming months. He intends to return to the ring under the banner of Premier Boxing Champions, which is no surprise with his long relationship with PBC founder and powerful boxing manager Al Haymon. Maidana also works with adviser Sebastian Contursi.

      Why?

There's always been rumors about this every few months so we will see but he's one of few who maxed his earnings potential and got out at a good time

I swear there was an article on here not even a month ago about how he was happily retired and not coming back

If so he’s going to need some time even if he works his ass off, that weight doesn’t just drop off

This time I actually believe he's back. What weight you guessing he comes back @ 160? 154? 147? Who's his first fight? That will explain a lot, see how serious he is. He misses the spotlight. He's seeing all the $$$ Manny made off AB recently, figures he should make some $$$ too. If he can get in shape he can get some big fights. Goes to show don't believe everything you read. How many reports of him happily retired.

He ran out of money. Thats what happens when you have people hanging around you whose career goal is to leech off you.

Aw bummed, he was going to be one of the fighters that retired from the sport instead of it retiring him.

Loved Maidana in his prime but I don’t think he can do what Fury did - tbf he prob has a good chance against Thurman still as he’s about as inactive as Chino has been.

Chino is back. Looks like another good payday for the high profile gatekeeping loser Broner
