Have you ever heard of anyone in the modern era that scored a round even whose name isn't Larry Merchant? I can think of only a few big fights that had even rounds in them. Barrera-Juarez, in which rounds were CHANGED to even in order to make Barrera the winner, which is one of the most wretched things I've ever witnessed as far as boxing is concerned, despite picking Barrera to whoop Rocky's ass. The other one, go figure, was ANOTHER Barrera fight, Barrera-Morales III in which one judge called a round even that Morales clearly won (I believe it was the 10th). This ultimately gave Barrera the win instead of ruling the bout a majority draw. Even rounds RUIN big fights.
