Sad to hear that Rocky Lockridge died, age 60. Stroke.

VERY weird to think it's a toss-up whether the general public knows him best for that KO of Roger Mayweather or...BEST CRY EVER.

The latter has gotten over 70 MILLION hits on YouTube, which is way way more than all his boxing highlights on the Internet put together.

Yeah he was messed up on drugs. Shame what his life came to and sad to see him die.

IMO he beat Gomez clearly (Gomez was done though), IMO beat Pedraza (who himself sounds like he’s close to dying unfortunately) and had a draw with Chavez. Make one or two of those go his way and he’d be enshrined in the hall of fame.

Why include news of someone's passing with something you can't help but laugh at doe? Heartless.

I thought he beat Gomez. Gomez was a shell of the fighter he was though, the KO loss to Azumah pretty much took away whatever was left.

Yeah, Gomez was a shell by then. That's the fight that messed his vocal chords and the reason he's sounded like crap for the last 30 odd years.

Gomez probably emptied what was left of his peak vs. Pintor, but still gave a great performance vs. LaPorte. It's documented he spent a lot of his training camp out into the late hours in the build-up to Nelson too. He did well early but lost his legs halfway through.
