Valero didn't live long enough to establish himself as the B level fighter he really was. Ferocity he had, good boxing skills he had not.
Edwin Valero v terence crawford

He blessed with raw power, was wild/savage and very explosive. I remember watching some of Valero’s sparring sessions on youtube, dude hurts every single one of em even with head gears on. Bud is one of the best P4P today hands down but I think a Valero fight would’ve been so dangerous for him especially at 135 or even 140 imo. Too bad, we did not get to see much of the ferocious Venezuelan.
Imo, Pacquiao vs Valero I think would have been a much bigger, much more competitive fight than Crawford vs Valero.Last edited by tatot; 02-05-2019, 06:19 PM.Comment

Valero was raw. He was like an early version of Pacquiao that needed guidance to develop it into something better. In fact their bodies were nearly identical if you compare 126lbs Pac to Valero. Same style of fight, both southpaws... crazy power.
Honestly, it's too hard to say what would have happened. We look at Bud as a slick technician that breaks down his opponents but we've also seen him rocked. How can we just dismiss a guy with brutal power, southpaw stance, and blinding speed?
What's to say Crawford would have even survived the first round? He nearly got rid of the champion Vincent Mosquera in the first...Comment
