I think what you do mean is joe is the most accomplished SMW. He definitely has an argument for that, though one would consider Sven Ottke to be ahead seeing as he made more recognised title defences. Sven being the forum joke is besides the point.

Thats your sole argument of credence. Hardly the greatest in terms of ability, ward outdid his greatest career end feat in his first SMW title fight.

Likewise several SMWs would be considered better H2H. Sadly we dont know h2h because joe kept well clear of them nearly all his career.
Steward said that Calzaghe had a good chance of beating prime Jones. I'm not making it up. I can find the exact point when I get time.
I'm not wasting much more time on this debate though because you're clearly one of the people who only give Calzaghe the minimum credit you can.
He didn't avoid anyone. Jones had moved to 175 in '96 - that was a year before Calzaghe even won his first world title and was still fighting at domestic level.
Calzaghe and Hopkins were in negotiations to fight in early 2003 too, but Hopkins ended the negotiations. That's all on record. Calzaghe would have fought him then. There were no notable opponents for Calzaghe to avoid at 168 - that wasn't his fault though.
Like I said, this website said he's an ATG, he was a first ballot hall of famer - those opinions carry quite a lot more credibility than yours.

Comparing him to Ottke is also a joke - Calzaghe won all four major belts. He fought and won two separate unification fights.
Did Ottke do either of those things?
Calzaghe also went to America, at a different weight class, and beat a Hopkins who was still in he top 10 p4p. Hopkins was coming off the win over Tarver, was the main man at 175 and would still be fighting and winning against top guys for years after the Calzaghe loss.

groves v froch did 47,000 followed by 355,000 a year later.

I think your'e on with 25,000 - 30ish people want to see Jr. pulled down a peg or two.

yeh i read it, in 2008. Vs shot jones, what a surprise, the one that lebedev and enzo can easy knock out. I'd suggest that the reason you cant find it is that you probably know its an opinion against a shot jones.

becos your points fail, yes i see why.

But I infinitely respect your opinion, its good you have such zeal for it, my friend. You are a real fan, to be proud of.

ottke was unified champ and calzaghe turned him down. how could he possibly get all the belts when calzaghe had one and wouldn't fight? yes calzaghe got the other belts after ottke retired well done! and the hopkins fight was a horrible robbery. they aren't far off from one another.

they are the same fights, not "also". Two fights, hich wr good, noone disputes that.

Did Ottke do either of those things?.
obviously you know that Ottke unified, so I will give you a pass for trying to be devious there. He also defended the unified crown 4 times, joe managed once. Comparing Joes one unified to Ottkes 4 is a joke!

but not really, they both defended against mediocrity for the most part. Same joke then, though I would argue Joes is a little better given the kessler and old hopkins names. It odd how Sven didnt make it into HoF when he had the same reason as Joe for getting in, those 20 defences I expect because he lost so many of them really whereas Joe only arguably lost one (reid) and perhaps was "saved by the ref" in one.

Now heres the most bizarre thing, Groves, DeGale and Calzaghe are all from Hammersmith. Seems that England-born SMWs have an affinity for coming from old Hammertown.

Degale is certainly not and if Jr. is then so far it's not the very top level he speaks of.At this time this fight is a decent mach up but no more than a c+. Jr. needs to bliz Degale and then fight and beat one of the top guys only then can he talk this way.
Groves lost 4 timed before winning a world title didn’t he? What are you on about

I like the eubanks but I always wanted euban k jnr to lose once, to be humbled and then go into have a great career from losing once. But now he lost twice. But eubanks still confident he's unbeatable.lol
Makes me wonder if there are journe man out there who feel unbeatable

Totally disagree, but I'm not wasting any time on this. Like I said, he's in the HOF, this website, among many others, voted him an ATG. Calzaghe beat Hopkins fair and square too. HBO scored it for him. Hopkins had to feign injury for five minutes because he couldn't handle Calzaghe's speed.
