  • Comments Thread For: Joseph Parker vs. Dereck Chisora Showdown is Possible

David Higgins, promoter for former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, has confirmed that he's been contacted about the possibility of a fight in the UK with Dereck Chisora. Parker fought twice in the UK in 2018, with a twelve round decision loss to Anthony Joshua and then a decision loss to Dillian Whyte. He closed out the year with a knockout win over Alexander Flores in Christchurch.

    I think Del shoukd retire.

He’s gone from demanding £400k to fight Joyce as a cashout fight to now having loads of fights and earning way more than that. He should quit before he gets hurt

That is a good fight for both. Chisora gets another good payday & Parker gets a fight he can win that could set him up for another big fight with potential title implications or maybe that rematch he wants with Whyte. Chisora is still a top 20 HW & he is a good name to add to anyone's resume. Chisora has options still even after all the losses. Takam wants a rematch so he could go that route too. I think Chisora is the perfect next step opponent for Parker.

Happy to see del boy get another pay day. Its winnable for him too. Stick a few more quid in his retirement fund, always liked the idea of him v pricey just for the hell of it.

Why parker keeps going to the UK and keep getting ****ed by the refs? He needs a better promoter Higgins not looking out for him

Parker needs to rebuild to get another title shot so Chisorsa, Povetkin and Ussyk's this year. If he wins all three a title shot 2020.

I agree, there are good paydays at domestic level and Derek could go out as a winner instead of becoming a punching bag for the top guys.

Joyce, Dubois, Gorman, Allen and yes...the gunslinger David Price.

Should be an easy W & showcase fight for Parker.

Del Boy seems to be good enough to just come up short vs the top guys. He's 36 this month & is 4-4 in his last 8 & the Takam W was his first W thats mattered in years for him.

Sh^t I wouldn't be mad at that one. That actually seems like a more interesting & competitive fight to me.

Price's chin is pretty trash doe & Del Boy still seems to have some power so I think Del Boy would be & should be a decent favorite.
