All I'm reading is a bunch of complaints and shots at Davis. It's just sad. Mares acknowledged that he called Davis out. Davis team saw it as an opportunity to gain fans based on Mares Mexican following. Fight gets made. How many guys are available at 130 on two weeks notice that at least fit a portion of the reason they made the fight in the first place?

so you should cherry pick every little bum that calls you out if you think it can boost your popularity? conversely you should avoid every good fighter if you think it hurts your popularity right? where's that machado fight???

If Tank and Mayweather promotions are as good as their word, he'll fight 3 times this year. So cut him some slack on this one; not much he can do about the Mares injury.

Shit happens I guess, and I don't really see this as Davis' fault, but if you ever pointed the finger at other fighters for piss poor replacements then you might want to think twice before defending this one.

Now that Showtime doesn't have any direct competition, they will start putting on more mismatches and fights no one wants to see.

i dont know being scheduled to fight the #1 guy and then fighting a smaller lesser fighter seems a lot different then being scheduled to fight a smaller fighter coming off a loss and then replacing him with an even worse smaller fighter. especially if after that fight you know you are probably going to reschedule the fight against the #1 guy. the plan for davis is what exactly? reschedule the mares fight? tevon farmer super fight? laughable

mares wasnt a good opponent in the first place though. sometimes when opponents fall out you actually get better opponents like when korobov replaced monroe. that would have been nice if davis could have found a top 10 guy in his division or maybe someone who used to be in the top 10? christ i dont know standards are so low for him

I'm actually excited for Lara vs Castano. That will be pure action cause Castano is a power puncher who likes to brawl but Lara the more experienced and can make Castano miss his shots so Lara can outbox him

Is it a cherry pick if you get called out? Im pretty sure cherry picking is when you go after a guy you know you can beat. You guys get overly sensitive about the business side of boxing when it's a fighter you already have a negative view of. As fans we aren't going to like every decision that every fighter makes, but its doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why a fighter who is trying to build himself into a big ticket fighter would fight in such a match up. Newsflash, fighting the toughest fights each time out doesn't guarantee big checks. So when these young guys choose to build their fan base and build financially, we as fans should understand it, even if we don't agree with it.
