Easy fight. A guy that lost 100lbs of fat and muscle mass in 6 months and hadn't fought a challenge in 3 years beat him.

Barry knows Wilder keeps interest in AJ in the public. Cleaning out the division right now isn't smart so he knows it's an easy win but a dangerous fight , most don't seem to understand that. Wilder had a chance to fight AJ , the notion Joshua is scared of Wilder after seeing the Ortiz and Fury fights when he fought a better Klitschko in 2017 is as comical as anyone thinking team Wilder are truthful people.Comment

Plus, bronze = 3rd place. If he had a weak punch he'd never have even gotten a title.Comment

The opinion of the promotion family of Matchroom will always favour their stable. I don’t necessarily agree with his statements about wilders ability but I can understand the reason behind them. I feel what was even more pertinent about his dialogue with the media is his agreement on a 50/50 split. This has to be regarded as one of the more epic swings in recent history from regarding wilder as a flat fee bum with nobodies on his record to actually recognising him as having some serious PPV value and essentially an equal to Joshua for an undisputed bout.
Let me continue along this path for a minute and put to the side the fact Joshua is a commercial king, that is a sizeable shift in in matchrooms cash value on a matchup between wilder/fury vs Joshua. If you can let that marinade for a second it speaks volumes of the seismic shift in the heavyweight division. It also demonstrates the differing opinion within the matchroom camp and highlights a fragmented team that’s more about individuals and egos than a unified view that is collectively shared.
Looking at that state affairs in matchroom is it then surprising that there is no response from team wilder and team fury for fast eddies chump change contracts. Eddie discusses fury’s deal over a phone and nothing in writing with frank warren and sends wilder emails. Wilder and fury have both maintained a 50/50 split to make that fight. Let’s not travel down the rabbit hole in discussing whether that is in fact correct or fair and take it as it is. Wilder/fury camps have maintained that position from day 1 and after several emails of no response now Barry is agreeing on a 50/50. To say that you didnt need to go around the houses to end up at the same place is an understatements. In addition let me add that if you are keen on sealing a deal for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world then I would say to fast Eddie go and meet your counterparts in person to initiate the dialogue.
Other than frustrate fans it certain delivers the verdict on who’s who when it comes to negotiation. Clearly matchroom are wasting people’s time. If I may walk through a little further in reference to a fighter being paid double triple his last payday, consider this that miller will be paid over 10 times his list cheque and matchroom we’re putting Dillian under pressure to accept 4M. The point here is simple that determining value a fighter brings to fight can be easily manipulated and that’s exactly what matchroom did for the Dillian Whyte rematch with Joshua. The rigidity of their terms and the timing of the contract for Dillian realistically showcased a real lack of desire on Joshua’s behalf in making that fight. It’s seemed like a take it or leave it and as the clock ran down which it inevitable does they look like they have moved on.
Looking at the future of heavyweight boxing a 50/50 on social media means nothing as we know fury and wilder are facing off this year and we can expect if wilder looses a trilogy to take place. One fight can change everything but if things go as they did in fury wilder I I expect fury to win and therefore no Joshua fight till April 2020 at the earliest.

Wilder has been exposed ..... great power but gash skill set . He's fallen in love with his power and lacks fundamentals to mix it with the best
Fury is gonna toy with him in the rematch and mess up what's left of the wilder Joshua hypeComment

Lol, because you don't know what your watching.
When Wilder has you ****ed, all hell breaks lose, but that's not the whole fight. Pay attention before that though.
Monster straight right hand, but he's developed a really good control jab that he uses a bunch of ways, a really good lead hook he can use well, he moves in and out of positions alright, and he's effective when he has to fight on the inside.
He's never going to be Joe Louis, but you're blind if you haven't seen any improvement from when he won his bronze medal as a novice.Comment

From what I’ve seen, Fury, Wilder and Whyte have all asked for two things: a percentage and VADA testing. That doesn’t make Joshua the boogie man.
Whyte says that ten weeks isn’t enough time for drug testing, he’s not wrong. The fact that his own stablemate is demanding VADA and won’t fight without it should be a red flag.
Wilder first accepted a flat fee offer, then changed his mind and denied having ever accepted it. He was then offered a percentage split, but made no response to it.
Whyte was offered a voluntary shot at 3 world title belts by an A side champion who has already ko'd him once. In a situation like that, a flat fee offer is normal and acceptable.
Neither Fury nor Wilder have ever asked for VADA testing and had that turned down by AJ. AJ vs Wilder would have been a WBC title fight and couldn't have happened without VADA testing anyway.
AJ's offer to Whyte was made in plenty of time for a full prefight VADA testing regime before the proposed date, if the offer had been accepted when it was first made.
AJ has never refused VADA testing for any fight. He did full advanced VADA testing before the Povetkin fight in order to have a level playing field with Povetkin, who no choice about it because of his previous PED offence record.Last edited by kafkod; 02-04-2019, 07:41 AM.Comment

Wilder isn't special but maybe not as bad as some thunk. As some believe wilder won a round or two outside 9th and 12th.
Wilder didnt, but some make out he did to justify drawLast edited by hugh grant; 02-04-2019, 07:56 AM.Comment

Note: UKAD are not the only testing organisation who allow oxylofrine out of competition. USADA also allow it because they follow WADA guidelines, just like UKAD.Comment
