Comments Thread For: Boxing Fans Playing The Long Game

By Tris Dixon - AS each day passes it seems as if a formal announcement for a June clash between Anthony Joshua versus Jarrell Miller in the USA moves closer. There had been high hopes, all be it with low expectations, for Joshua to unify against WBC champion Deontay Wilder, or go onto an all-British clash with Tyson Fury, given Team AJ had Wembley Stadium reserved for April 13...

So Joshua won't come to America to fight Wilder for 50m, but he will come to the US to fight Jarrell Miller?!

AJ actually said his sleep patterns were so precious he couldn't travel outside the UK, and risk a bad night's sleep.

The contract Eddie offered whyte contained a rematch clause where he got patheticly small percentage, and then got minor percentage in the rematch if he won. Would be first time in history the new champion is the B side.

Who is Tris Dixon fooling? UK boxing fans? Surely UK readers know that there isn’t a “Joshua USA market” (as Dixon states) on this USA DAZN launch.

              Please...

What are these DAZN USA build fights for AJ without Fury or Wilder? Hearn will build DAZN USA for the unfortunate AJ vs Whtye clash late 2019 back in the UK even though Whyte said that ship has sailed? Is Hearn going to beg Haymon for Ortiz or PBC benchwarmers to go to DAZN?

Fury already said the best two Heavyweights in the world were him and Wilder. Casuals don’t follow a swollen body builder holding 3 belts. All casuals gravitate to is why hasn’t the body builder fought Wilder or Fury?

Fury Wilder rematch is going to make noise, and Showtime Sports makes the marketing attractive thanks to Fury and Wilder’s characters along with Lewis and other past Heavyweights acknowledging their fights.

Wilder has his road to 50-0 via Heavyweight legacy. That’s more historic than AJ’s current run. Wilder and AJ are neck to neck with opponent difficulty. Ortiz would flatten Parker, Whyte or Povetkin.

Wait till Ortiz vs Fury happens!

The rematch was for 50-50 stop spreading mis-information.

Tris Dixon is normally a knowledgeable writer, so i’m Surprised by this piece. Has the PBC given him some of that Lennox money?

How can you write this article without addressing that Hearn has made 60/40 offers to both Fury and Wilder? Why is AJ the only A-side in history it appears that is supposed to pay his rivals an equal 50/50 split before they are worth it?

He also fails to mention that Hearn has said the winner of Fury v Wilder 2 is worth 50/50. So he’s being fairly realistic that once the opponent has grown their own brand to AJ levels then they deserve to be paid accordingly.

Maybe an anti-AJ article just sells better these days? Shame that we live in a world of haters!

Welcome to yet another of the most tedious threads on the internet.

-"AJ is lying, he doesn't want it."
"Nah, Wilder is lying and doesn't want the fight."
                    -"But I know the facts!"
-"No. Your facts are wrong! I know the real facts!"

Basically it's repetitive trash from every side, and will remain the same on every thread about this subject until there's an announcement regarding the fight happening.

This isn't a knock on anyone posting on this thread, I've done my share in the past but reality has kicked in...this subject has for a while now been extremely tiresome.

Have a good day and enjoy more interesting content elsewhere on the world wide web, it caters to every taste and mood, something for everyone.
