This. Ward wouldn’t make any money from names like Bivol, Gvozdyk or Beterbiev. Ward was fortunate that Kovalev had belts and was for a long time the P4P narrative. Ward knew that fighting even Bellew at Cruiser, though good money in the UK, does absolutely nothing to his resume and actually downgrades it after his Kova wins.

Ward would have too much pressure from industry to fight Wilder. For instance the crossroads that Usyk were to beat Joshua with the ring IQ that Parker didn’t have would most likely bring Ward to fight Usyk with Hearn doing a massive paycheck. Yes, Usyk could beat AJ. So then if Ward beats Usyk and doesn’t fight Wilder it does even more damage to Ward.

In the end, Ward knew that the final crossroads at Heavy would mean to fight Wilder, and the world knows, by then, Wilder is Champion and had more drawing power than Ward.

Kovalev could not even ko alvarez and alvarez was not as defensively responsible as ward...

Not loaded wraps, he’s a real dude, but it’s funny how people are showing guts to back him now when he’s on top and rubbish him when he loses.
Not this fan either. I picked Kovalev to win before the fight and I would pick him or Bivol to beat Ward if Ward comes back.

Don’t assume Kovalev would beat Ward a 3rd time. The odds would favor Ward, and if Kova keeps gasping for air the late rounds then it would be harder for him at Cruiser, where Ward might fancy the challenge there.
I am almost certain Ward won't come back. He got out because he said his body could no longer handle the training he thought he needed to be in the shape he wanted to be in and that was almost 2 years ago.

Groves didn't have the Cobra doing the booty dew and skating away with a suspect decision, silly comparison neph.
