F You Andre Ward and Kellerman. Kovalev retired you and regained world championship.

beat him up and beat him in the first fight which ruined his invincible aura then ward ruined his reputation when he had to cheat to win in the second fight. now he just has a reputation of a guy who can't really box well and can only win by cheating and when you go back and look at his fights...yep it checks out.
obviously there are still a few hold out fanatics who pretend ward was great and is legitimately undefeated but they are silly fanboys who dont even understand how boxing works and why the judges ward picked and paid for would favor ward. im guessing ward retired in order to keep these fanboys in his good graces because fighting on he just loses more and more of his base as it becomes more and more obvious his "boxing" was just illegal tactics over and over with officials he picked letting him get away with it(which is why he was always lead promoter and refused every other fight)Comment

oh another joe calzaghe. and no its not. kovalev is better than ward and beat him in the closest thing that could be considered a completed fair fight(ward was able to cheat nonstop but kovalev still clearly won) but as we know wards promoter picked and paid the judges so obviously we got that shocking decision. 2nd fight was just shenanigansComment

Cringey...
I'm sure Ward is THRILLED Kovalev won because it just raised his stock. Ward finished the best version of this dude and he was respectful tonight, while still being honest.
I was happy Kovalev won tonight, but all I hear is salty bytches crying about how Andre Ward ruined their lives. Seek help guys. Some perfectly good posters here have a derangement syndrome from their butthurt over this guy.Comment

It's like this...
I've never been a fan of Ward, the person. I do respect him somewhat as a fighter, though. People say "he is a boring fighter!" I disagree -- he is a boring human being....his boxing style works just fine for me. If Andre Ward had not been a boxer, or ex-boxer/commentator/analyst -- you know what his profession would have been? Easy -- A police officer. He has that same boring, bland, no personality, arrogance of any young police officer I've ever met. Sorry if this offends anyone.
Now, I am not a Kovalev fan any longer after seeing him on an episode of HBO 24/7 or whatever...in Russia, at his mom's house -- and laughing about how he and his hoodlum friends would ride their bikes around and gang up on grown men, stealing money from them after beating them up. What a real piece of crap! That was it, for me.
Regarding their two fights, the 1st one wasn't even that close to me. Ward started winning the later rounds, and several rds in a row, but he was hurt several times during the first 5-6 rounds, to the point that I thought there would be a 2nd knockdown. Add in the 10-8 Round 2 scores, and there's no way on Earth he won that fight.
In the rematch, Kovalev sealed his fate by continually going to social media and posting messages talking *****. Any real boxing fan that paid attention to this as it unfolded, leading up to the rematch -- knew that the it would not end well for Sergey. I didn't even watch it because I knew he was going to lose. And despite some dirty tactics and low punches from Ward -- Sergey got caught slipping. Ward would have stopped him with head shots eventually...but he didn't realize the ref would stop the fight on body punches, so he was trying to wear Kova down as much as he could. But let's all admit, Ward was getting punched and busted up plenty at that juncture in the 2nd fight, also. He didn't want it to go 12, either. The stoppage was a little premature at any rate. I've never seen, or will ever again, see a fight stopped under such odd circumstances.Comment

Ward and his hoe Kellerman were smug assholes before and during the fight, talking crap about Kovalev. Eat crow and go to hell you circle jerking clowns.
EDIT: I watched the main event on mute, but others have pointed out that Ward’s fight commentary was actually fair so props to him then. Seems like Max was still a hoe, though.Comment

Kellermans an arrogant dude
Once he has an idea in his head he sticks to it no matter what
I remember when he asked rungsvai multiple questions about supposed "controversy of first fight" , after rung jus knocked out chocolate to. Kellerman is the one who spewed out the false narrative after first fight
Similarly, after the disgraceful way first fight ended and the way hbo said it was a legit stoppage , I bet kellerman was trying to validate his opinion that kovalev is weak to the body during the alvarez fightComment

these fangirls are a tiny minority, the reality is, everyone saw kovalev get robbed in the first fight and everyone saw a lowblow stoppage in the second fight.
you can again ignore all of that and repeat another one of their mantra's.
'kovalev quit' 'kovalev was going to lose anyway' 'he would of got stopped anyway'
again, back in reality the scorecards were level, and kovalev should of been given 5 minutes to recover. Would of he of got his second wind? probobly not, but claiming you know the outcome in 100% certainty like boxing has never produced guys who recover or get 2nd winds is just ridiculous.Comment
