On the back foot and backing up from power shots are not the same thing. Clearly, it was Golovkin's strategy in the 2nd fight to make the smaller man advance( and pay the price for doing so). I agree that Canelo did have a couple of moments where he made Golovkin "step" back and reset himself.... but it was not the same as when Jacobs cracked Golovkin so hard that he was "pushed" backward and seemingly confused, momentarily.

Honesty is the best policy
Most champions SHOULD have the benefit of the doubt in close rounds, which is exactly why Canelo IS different than most fighters. This guy takes the close rounds on the cards even when he is the challenger. I like Canelo. He is entertaining and ages like wine.... but let's be honest, here.Comment

I'd say Jacobs career defining moment was vs GGG, a fight he lost.
And Canelo although hes a great fighter he actually lost his career defining fight against Floyd JrComment

There is not only a one fight career defining
And Canelo did great things after that and he only was 22 years old when he faced Floyd
Jacobs career defining fight is against Canelo that is a better fighter than GolovkinComment

GGG sure didn't have the benefit of the doubt. I think the money fighter always has the benefit of the doubt, it's just that it's usually the champ that is the money fighter. Not with canelo, at least in Vegas. Not with Hagler against Leonard.Comment

Well put. Canelo did have moments where Golovkin reset and stepped back momentarily but definitely not the same thing as backing up from power punches. In fact I don't remember Golovkin's back ever touching the ropes against caneloOn the back foot and backing up from power shots are not the same thing.
