The folks suggesting that they call Loma are just here to talk s hit. Loma has Crolla next then he wants Mikey. Davis has unifications at 130 to deal with.

This was Mares' fight. He asked for it and it's in his backyard so his fans can attend. PBC and Davis obliged the request because it's good money and good promotion of Davis to a different fanbase.

It hilarious how every fan boy here is asking for Tank to fight Davis yet they bring up all these excuse for Mungia being to young to fight other top fighters and unify. Till this date everyone keeps making excuses for Canelo being too young and green after he lost to an old Floyd. Gervonta is 24 with 19 fights and Loma is 30 and in his prime... I have no problem with the fight but lets keep it real for every fighter and have no double standards when it comes to certain fighters and have excuses for them being too young when they're holding titles.

Mares is a an opponent to help build Tank. Reminds me of Loma/Marriaga. I'm sure you killed Loma and Bob for that fight since he was coming off a loss, moving up, etc etc. LOL

PBC just got a new TV deal. They are giving their bigger names showcase fights in their 1st fights to build interest and excitement.

This sort of fight is common and has been for the last 75 years or so.

PBC has been on Showtime for a while now. That's no excuse. People know who Gervonta Davis is by now, he's one of the most talented young champions in boxing. His last three fights were basically showcases too where he was the big favorite. I'd rather see him against somebody who could really challenge him. He doesn't need anymore showcase fights.

Yeah I agree with this. It's almost like Al pimped Mares to sell tickets for 2 fights.Mares was the driving force behind the ticket sales. It almost feels like a bait and switch.

This allows Tank to presumably get an easy KO win in a packed house in LA and still fight get an LA fight with Mares later this year.
