Carl Froch Didn't DARE to be GREAT. Ducked KOVALEV!!

This geezer was giving GGG a change to fight at a catch above 168... which logically means Froch would prefer 175. This is common sense. And Groves is bigger than GGG.

Let's be real, at 168, Froch is a big guy. The way he looked super drained in all his weigh ins shows he easily rehydrated to 185lbs on fight night. Even his walk around weight was the same frame as the Krusher. And we all know, Groves is a big guy as well at 168.

Ever since Billy Joe Saunders got caught, my perspective with UK boxing and the use of Oxilofrine and what Hearn said regarding UKAD, I think a lot of UK boxers have taken advantage of this loophole. No wonder many boxers took advantage of this wonder drug to cut weight EASILY all while UKAD allows it.. smh. I mean Callum Smith is HUGE and hydrating to 185lbs +

With all that being said, Froch saw an older BHOP try against Kovalev, but Froch wouldn't dare try to snag more belts at 175 where he would be comfortable?

Froch was retiring around the time that most people were getting to know who Kovalev is. Kovalev had only been a world champ for around a year when Froch retired. They weren't even in the same division either.

It's a ridiculous thing to say.

It's almost as bad as when people say Calzaghe and Froch should've happened. Froch was fighting in British title fights infront of small crowds when Calzaghe was on his retirement fights in a different division fighting in USA. Their careers never really crossed paths.

He didnt want to know Cleverly, you can find interviews where he says these guys walk around too, heavy, and that sparring Bellew showed him what he needed to know.O wouldnt say he exactly ducked Degale but that fight was imminent but he didnt want to know that either.

I agree about the Calzaghe thing but after claiming Joe ducked him Froch got on hes high horse about Groves not being hes generation and then flat out rejected Degale after a long tease with that fight. Carl is abit of a hypocrite.

Crawford was rehydrating to 153lbs when at 135. Crawford and Spence are about 8lbs shy of each other walking around, and Spence is BIG 147 fighter. Froch with his eye sockets all seeped in at weigh ins you're telling me he couldn't fight at 175lbs? Even though he said could fight GGG at 172? That's cowardice man.

Truth is Froch was a weight bully at 168.

Froch wasn’t great. Sure, he had a good career, made excellent money Im sure but he’s not a great fighter and had he pushed himself further (his competition was consistently good I’ll give him that) he’d have lost again. I don’t think he was quite capable of beating truly elite fighters.

Except for when your name is Canelo or Floyd Mayweather amd they want to find a reason to hate you for being at the top.

This I agree with, and fans seem to forget that without drainage suppression, a fighter can be more comfortable at weights they are more comfortable. I feel, with your opinion, that Froch at 175 would be comfortable, but we'll never know because he didn't dare at 175. Isn't Froch taller than Bernard Hopkins? Bhop so long at 160 early in his career. Froch could've fought at 175, but being a weight bully at 168 may have been better.

Good assessment. Canelo has fought professionally, starting from the age 15, weights from 140-168. And Floyd too, from 130-154.

Froch earlier in his career was calibrating from 168-175. As you age, it's harder to hit the lowest. That's why Froch always looked super drained at weigh ins. Like Crawford at 135 at around 29 years of age to now at 147. Crawford's eyes were mad sunken in at 135, so we know he could fight way above it.
