I thought ESPN would’ve pushed the main event harder, to help promote a future unification with Gvodzyk

I agree. This is a major card that fans want to see. Makes me miss HBO a bit.

As a UK fan, I don’t have the best perspective but HBO’s coverage always seemed the best.

Kovalev is a solid draw as well, I’m surprised they aren’t televising this on one of the premium channels. Strange...

Predictions for the four main fights?

Got Alvarez by KO/TKO in the 5th-8th round range

          Comney by UD

          Valdez by 5th round stoppage

          Lopez by 4th round stoppage

It may not be all that stacked in terms of the match ups itself, but a lot of big names on it and likely a lot of fun fights.
Kovalev by revenge KO and I'll be there and will let ya know how it looked live

Commey and Valdez go on regular ESPN and I believe Teofimo/Kovalev are on ESPN+.

Have you subscribed to ESPN+ yet???
So the fights are on regular ESPN then we got to switch to the app?

I got the app. It's cool for $4.99 but I much prefer just watching on regular TV. I wish they'd do more with the fight library they have. I have everything that's on there. ESPN for example for certain must have the **** Tiger-Frank DePaula 1968 fight of the year yet have never re-broadcast it though they snapped up tons of MSG fights around that time.

Alright, so it's a little confusing but from what I understand:

The ESPN card that starts at 9 PM EST will air Valdez vs. Tommasone and Commey vs Chaniev. Then at 12 am est, ESPN+ will air Lopez vs Magdaleno and Alvarez vs Kovalev.

I still find it insane the start time for the main event. Could possibly be around 1 am est. That makes little to no sense.

HBO's production value was the best always. I think they had the best buildup content, cameras, lighting etc; Once upon a time they had the best commentary team. Manny Steward was as good as it got, Roy Jones used to be a great commentator but overtime they got too biased and too obvious. Lampley's always had his favorites but his bias got worse and worse and Kellerman got insanely biased too. He'd talk about Andre Ward multiple times during ANY fight which was just creepy to me.

Showtime's production value has never been as good as HBO and once upon a time the team had Czyz and Pacheco who were awful but overtime with the likes of Bernstein and Farhood on board and the excellent Malignaggi they provided far better, more neutral commentary.

I guess the strategy is to put him and Lopez on the app because Kov is a big name and Lopez just had a highlight reel KO.

I'm thinking do it the other way-app for the prelims and the main and semi main on ESPN.

Guess that's why I make the little bucks and post rather than the big bucks as an ESPN honcho lol.

Enjoy the card my man, should be fun.

Would be big time if Kovalev got revenge. Not often do you see that for a guy of his age to come back and turn the tide in an immediate rematch. Would say a lot about his character if he pulls it off.

Czyz and Pacheco suck so bad. I I miss the days of a Cosell or Dunphy that would just call the fight and draw me in as a fan because the commentary was about the fight, not the network or the guy signed to it.
