I like how he said, "Non-Italian" like Italians aren't white.
Who is the greatest White American champion currently & all time?

greenk for really good post.All-time it’s got to be Harry Greb based on resume. He has the greatest resume in the history of the sport and is no worse than a top 3 all-time.
Benny Leonard and Willie Pep are also two names on every historians top 10 lists. Mickey Walker can’t be too far off, surely no worse than top 12.
Now? Plant is probably it. White Americans just don’t get into the sport anymore. Back in the days there were so many Italians, ***ish and Irish getting into the sport and dominating.
Historically there's tons and many are among the absolute greatest of all-time.
Surefire top 10's
Harry Greb, Benny Leonard, Willie Pep
(Almost) certain top 20's
Barney Ross, Mickey Walker, Gene Tunney, Tony Canzoneri
Certain top 20-40 guys
Packey MacFarland, Billy Conn, Tommy Gibbons, Terry McGovern, Tommy Loughran
Certain top 40-60 guys
Jack Britton, Mike Gibbons, Stanley Ketchel, Tommy Ryan
Other notable greats
Jake LaMotta, Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano, Abe Attell, Lou Ambers, Fritzie Zivic, Maxie Rosenbloom, Nonpareil Jack Dempsey, Philadelphia Jack O'Brien, Joey Maxim, Carmen Basilio, Gene Fullmer, Joey Giardello, Teddy Yarosz, Pete Herman, Tony Zale

The “non-Italian” comment was probably because he didn’t realize there’s been a plethora of great ***ish, Irish and other backgrounds too. I’m sure it’s a thread designed to mock. Probably part ignorance to say Italians aren’t “Caucasian” like Spaniards and Portuguese aren’t either but Slavics are lol..That’s even more dumb than saying “Egyptians aren’t African”.
It sort of backfired after thinking Willie Pep, Rocky Marciano and some Europeans like Calzaghe and Lomachenko are disqualified not knowing the success of careers of such legends as Greb, Walker, Conn, Leonard, Ross, Zale, Ketchel, MacFarland, Tunney etc; children of Irish (Walker, Tunney, MacFarland, Conn), ***ish European (mostly Russian like Leonard and Ross) , German (Greb), Polish (Ketchel and Zale) etc; immigrants.Comment
