I was a fan of Mosley growing up and was worried for him in this one. Great performance and the biggest win (financially) of his career IMO, as this win essentially earned Mosley major paydays vs Mayweather, Pacquiao and even Canelo.

Mosley earned me a few quid as well as he was a 3/1 underdog.

I was a huge Margarito fan and was at both the Cotto and Mosley fight .
As Margarito made his ring walk he didn't look like his usual confident self .
When I heard about the hand wrap issue I first thought it was a tactic / mind game team Mosley were trying on Margarito ... I was wrong .

Did word spread quickly in the arena? And did it change the atmos? That would’ve been a crazy fight to attend.

It was kinda surreal when the news broke, such a malevolent tactic, I couldn’t believe it.

If I remember correctly, Margarito had struggled to make weight that fight. He was also angry because he really wanted De La Hoya instead of Mosley. to me that’s why he decided to try to cheat that night. He needed to follow up his biggest win by trying to KO Mosley a guy who had never been KO’d, then maybe he could lure DLH.

Do you think that was the only time he cheated?

He’d been doing it for years IMO

So you believe that was his only time cheating?

I don’t know if it was the first time, can’t imagine it was.
But I’m sure that for the Mosley fight he wanted the plaster to be the first guy to KO Mosley, have to massive wins back to back and lure DLH into the ring.

I don’t know. I know the pressure of getting that KO against Mosley played a part in his decision that time for sure.

                  Amazing performance by Shane.

I expected a decision win for him despite Margarito being heavily favoured.

Didn't expect Shane to beat the brakes off him like the stole something.

I remember watching and thinking Margarito will never be the same after taking these massive punches over and over and over. Shane really loads up on his punches which is why elusive fighters trouble him but Margarito was just getting hit flush constantly.

                  Epic stuff.
