tournaments work best for wieght classes without a lot of fanfare or a lot of built in stars. cruiserweight, SMW, these are where we've seen a lot of the tournament style matchmaking. it usually only benefits the careers of a couple of fighters. everybody else has the chance to string together losses and often ahve to fight punchers after losses. guys get stopped. guys get cut in training. it almost never works out and there's a reason for promoters not having a ton of interest in them.

So you are talking in the future? It doesn't matter as the money divisions won't be signing up for the tournament. No top guys at MWs, WWs or HWs will join it. There is a reason they had to go back to CW again in season 2. This was never meant to last. I just want this season to play out so we can get match ups like Inoue/Rodriguez and Inoue/Tete and Prograis/Taylor.

I'd assume these rumors would be about Hearn footing some of the bill for the current crop and putting those fights on his cards, not taking over the whole thing for a 3rd season. Didn't Eddie say they have a card in Scotland coming up? Would make sense if he's got Josh Taylor headlining that card now
