The people on here claiming this isn't a success are showing two things:

    1. They know little to nothing about boxing PPVs.

    2. They probably peaked in high school. (with regard to schooling)

The data shows that this is absolutely a success. Stop posting nonsense and learn something. 300k has always been the benchmark for a "PPV" fight. Just look up the buy rates for fights in the post-Tyson era. All the PPV guys are 300k+ fighters without the right dance partner. The only exceptions were/are Tyson and Floyd. Nobody else is/was clearing 1 million buys without proper matchmaking.

He was on the downside of his run, the same happened with Tyson. But both had a run where approximately 1 million buys was virtually guaranteed.

“An even easier points victory over Jessie Vargas” Uhh lol. Vargas put up a better fight than Broner by a mile. He actually landed some solid right hands. Broner landed a good left hook and nothing else memorable.

So this would definitely make Canelo a much bigger draw in PPV or in boxing period at this point in boxing.
Even though Canelo no longer does ppv he is a much larger draw today or even over the past 4-5 years as a whole almost over Manny. Floyd would be the only draw that beat him in this era.
But the difference between Floyd and Canelo is people paid to watch Canelo because they enjoy his style as well as Manny to. But Floyd people paid to watch him lose even though it never happened.
