That's not decent money when u factor in expenses dude, and If you're only making those type of paydays every few years you average it out you basically making around 70-90k a year.

He's definitely not making anywhere near enough to retire after his boxing career is over.

I totally agree, his losses don't make him a bum, he always comes to fight.

Good point. I should have put a caveat in there: Once you take off the 25% for taxes and pay the trainer and crew, this type of money tides you over until you, hopefully, get a big payday. That's a big if, though, since that means he's got to win a belt first in order to really get paid.

Sadam Ali versus Cotto comes to mind. Ali made at least $500,000 for that one. With the kind of beating and health issues a lot of these guys walk away with, you really need a few of these types of paydays to make up for the downsides to fighting.

              Hell no fuuckkkk that.

Thurman likes to talk all that trash but then says oh I been off 2 years I need a soft touch lol

If that was canelo ya muthafuuckers would be crucifying him for that.

Didn't Lopez have Marcos Maidana hurt pretty badly in the third round of their fight (could have been a different round)? Had he fought a bit more intelligently he could have stopped Maidana.

This is the most opportune time to fight Thurman. Lopez is supposedly a more intelligent fighter now and he's always been tough, a good puncher and durable....I really doubt he will have enough to beat Thurman. He might have to hope that Thurman has declined significantly.
