    Hagler got robbed

I agree. Hagler got robbed. Leonard was the media darling and he was the one they wanted to win and Steele helped Leonard.

McDonald’s has never seen Hagler or Leonard fight. He’s never even heard of Monzon and Napoles too for example. I’d pay him no attention since he confirmed he only started watching 5 years ago and only watches 4 fighters.

I personally feel Hagler won but it was closer than it should have been but not enough to take the title IMO. The decision went to the draw as is often the case. Both great fighters. Hagler a top 3/4 all-time Middleweight, same for Leonard at Welterweight. Canelo would have no chance at 160 against Hagler, Monzon, Tiger, Robinson, Rodriguez, Hopkins, Griffith, Hearns, Benvenuti, Jones, McCallum, Toney probably even non “greats” like Nunn, Kalambay, Benton etc; just to make a few modern day standouts. I wouldn’t give even a prime GGG much of a shot against those either.

The holding was one part of SRL's game I didn't like.

            Hagler got robbed

I’ve rewatched it many times and generally I score it 115-113 Hagler but I can understand how SRL stole many rounds and got a decision. A true super fight, a controversial decision but not a robbery though by a any means. 115-113 either way is fine IMO, the Mexican judges (name was Guerra or something) card of 118-110 was disgraceful though.

I just watched it and never saw it before I had it a draw.
It was a very even fight imo.

This fight is painful because Hagler is my all time favorite and I LOATHE SRL. I don’t have a problem with 115-113 either way but the 118-110 score is one of the worst cards I ever saw in my life.

The reality of the sport is the crowd favorite and cash cow always gets the benefit of the doubt in these event super fights.

I remember that idiot Mirko/Lester tutor or one of his aliases claiming Hagler ducked 168 before it even excised LOL.

It’s not the travesty of a decision Hagler has made it but it doesn’t feel right still IMO. I think this is the case of a guy “winning the event” which shouldn’t translate as winning the fight.

Leonard-Hearns II was a worse decision though.
