I think this simple reality is being overlooked.

Whyte has more options than people are realizing with PBC in the UK now. He could even push the the fight to a purse bid in the UK if he choose to to see who's willing to pay the most to the fighters putting Hearn & Joshua in the awkward situation of fighting on ITV PPV or dropping a belt.

I think Whyte is perhaps making a bold ass move here to insure he gets max value for this rematch but thats just massive speculation obviously cuz this is early on & could be easily resolved if Hearn just started being less into gamesmanship & media negotiations.

Hold up, is Hearn saying Whyte is only being offered about $5 million or so for Joshua? Hearn has to do better than that to get that fight made. Not saying that is a bad pay day by any means, but the man has proven he can do 400k+ buys WITHOUT Joshua.

That PPV will do at least 1.5M buys or more with a live gate of $12M or so. Hearn has to up the offer a bit more to get Whyte to sign the contract.

It has to be more than 4, surely. Whyte is worth more than that, im a big defender of Hearn with all the hate he gets but in the current market Whyte is worth more than 4. He just is. Ive been predicting the offer, the improved offer would be breaking 10 million. I think thats overpaying Whyte but needs must and Whyte wants paying. But then whose calling the shots here Hearn or Joshua? Cuz Hearns quids in either way as he would likely be promoting both fighters.

Still $5M when you convert it to dollars, but yeah that tweet was a bit surprising. One big difference in a Wilder fight is the big US license fee for the fight compared to what Joshua/Whyte will get. So he doesn't deserve 60/40 per se, but probably more than $5 million. I can see why he is upset but as I mentioned, Hearn kind of created a monster here. Whyte legitimately thinks he's above Wilder/Fury in terms of name value and that is just mad (Degale voice). Hearn needs to up the offer and get this fight signed or fear losing Whyte to Haymon/TR.

Take less this time, and you'll get more next time. That's the first clause in a Hearn contract. The only person that I've seen collect on that clause, is Maurice Hooker. Hearn was outbid 1 mil plus for Hooker's best performance to date. Hearn isn't in to high risk investments in a high risk game. Dillian is being offered a shot at 3 world title belts and the chance to replace AJ as the No1 HW in the world, at a point in time when the interest and money being generated by HW title fights is heading for a level it hasn't touched in 25 years.

If he turns it down because he can't get 60/40 from AJ, that's not just being big headed, that's Adrien Broner level delusional ... and some!

I didn't look at it that way. I mean NO way in hell should Khan be making $5M for Crawford, but more power to him.

Yeah, Eddie needs to improve his offer. If he doesn't and Whyte turns it down, expect more of "Eddie keeps low balling AJ's opponents!!!!" lol.

You know that came up in the meeting! Whyte is a smart man! You know he's showing his PPV numbers, etc.! He said he manages himself, so he has to see how many Haymon guys have their own promotions, etc.! I still think he should take the fight, if the offer comes to 35%! He has to remember that although he's been in more PPVs than Wilder and Fury, he also already lost to Joshua by TKO! Fury and Wilder haven't been KO'd by anyone! Also, if I'm Whyte, and I think it's a low-ball offer, I would ask Eddie Hearn for a one-fight offer for Usyk! He should get well paid for that, and if he wins, he's Joshua's mandatory for the WBO!
