With both in the same age

    Canelo will destroy GGG
How does that work? He wasn’t able to “destroy” him with the 8 year age advantage.

      In the history of boxing?

Bar none, no questions asked, Canelo has the best resume in the sport, no matter what metric you use.

Quality wins, strength of schedule, championships, give me a break, Canelo is the pound for pound king based on what he has done in the game of boxing, and who he has fought, the bottom line speaks loudest.

Of course there is other contenders, but none of them can touch Canelo.
yea, that run of khan, Liam smith, and Chavez jr while he was ducking ggg was spectacular. All kidding aside, he does have a good resume, but he’s also been a bit of a diva. The whole caneloweight thing and the belt trashing to duck ggg were not good looks for him.

        Years advantages?

        Lol

        Golovkin was in prime

        Abel said that

        GGG thrown almost 850 punches

GGG was not able to knocked down a smaller guy in his natural weight

Was just about to give almost this exact reply to the same post. Some guys seem to think the two things are synonymous.

Canelo is a sure fire HOFer but isn't yet an ATG though it's possible he will do enough to be regarded as one in the future. Personally I think he's a very good fighter, but not one who's really that much better than his peers - just that he's been given many more opportunities to shine (and, in some cases, a little generousity on the scorecards). Dude's been groomed to be the face of Boxing since his very early 20s, but whilst he's very good he's not as good comparatively (H2H) as his exceptional resume suggests.

Always hard to tell how folk from the future will view our present, what will be forgotten and what remembered, though. Not like many ATGs from the past didn't have close fights too - often against journeymen, and the scribes and boxing historians of the future will probably look back on today with much the same nostalgia as we look back on past eras.

retire the first time he faced someone prime and good? That would be wimpish.

Canelo will never be able to beat counter-punching fighters who are mobile. Sergio Martinez (prime)would've given Canelo fits and I see Canelo looking amateur several times over in that fight.

That doesn't mean Canelo sucks. He's the face of boxing today and legitimate Top 10 PFP fighter...just not an ATG talent. Still he's fun

Haha the narrative of the simpleminded GGG haters is laughable. GGG was the one who told Golden Boy and Canelo to get lost. Sick of letting them use his name to promote their cash cow and sick of getting disrespected and having judges paid to rob him. Dazn and Golden Boy begged GGG for a third fight because that would have meant tons of subscribers for DAZN since GGG has 10 times as many fans as Jacobs and even more fans than Canelo worldwide (Yup thats a fact and can be proven by Google analytics).

probably because canelo will not fight at 36 so we wouldnt know what he looks like then....because canelo didnt wait till 34 to step up competition and began fighting good/great fighters much earlier than that.....

                    imagine if golovkin did that?
Canelo dropped his belt when GGG was in his prime to avoid him.

Cotto avoided him, even paid $800k to not have to face GGG.

Martinez avoided GGG in his prime and rather faced Chavez Jr, Murray and Cotto.

                    Sturm and Abraham avoided him.

Billy Joe Saunders avoided GGG in his prime.

Quillin avoided GGG in his prime.

Carl Froch avoided GGG after talking big and even admitted to swerve GGG like the plague on TV.

And here you are telling GGG didnt face anybody in his prime when all the big names did everything to avoid GGG?

As you can see from my signature the majority of boxing fans worldwide saw an old GGG beat Canelo twice and GGG was at an age where Canelo himself admitted he would be long retired because at that age you are just way past your best.

Man, who cares? GGG told us how great he was, how much a killer he was for years on end. Then when he got the big chance, against a naturally smaller man, he quietly played his part as the fall guy for this other fool to claim his scalp. GGG went meekly into this thing. Don't make all these claims and then surrender your 0 like that. He got found out regardless. In that second Canelo fight, knowing what was already known, he should have went out all guns blazing and done everything to get the stoppage. Even if he'd got stopped himself, at least he done all he could to not leave it in the judge's hands. As it is, he was party to it all. What is a third fight gonna prove? He has proven how mentally weak he really is when faced with true adversity. He will never beat Canelo. The whole thing just stinks. GGG got exposed and Canelo and Golden Boy are truely corrupt. The whole saga has just confirmed what we already knew. Absolutely no need for a third fight.
