Yeah he was prime at age 28. I think he was a better fighter at 28 physically and his with his technique. I don't think Sanchez did much except change his style to a more fan friendly one. He always had a great jab, he always had the power. Sanchez changed his style to block with his gloves more don't move your head as much and stay balanced. Which is good but not as popular with judges. If I still had the link I would post it. It's a trainer explaining why that style doesn't always work in the modern age of scoring. He claims that West Coast fighters are trained to throw lots of punches in combination because it's too hard for judges to determine which ones don't land clean or barely miss. They usually get the benefit of the doubt. They have a built in advantage with judges. I think he's right. This is just my opinion and yours is valid not trying to pick a fight here just giving a different take on this. I've always had aproblem with Sanchez's philosophy of "We don't adjust to our opponent we force him to adjust to us. How often do you see videos coming from Big Bear where Golovkin is doing something other than hitting the mitts with power?? One of the reasons he only won a world title at age 34 is he was avoided by Strum then had to restart again when he moved to the US.
This is what you said and I don't agree.
wasnt prime at 28 for sure, he was subeuro then, fighting at subeurolevel all the time. He obviously bloomed late if he was only winning a world title at 34.
