I compare it to the Spinks-Judah fight. Spinks is a awesome boxer that 90% of the people cant beat and thats including Karmazin this weekend. Its so hard to beat a guy like Spinks because he is lefty but the problem was that Zab is also a lefty so it neturalizes his biggest advantage.

Mitchell is a lefty just like Williams and Williams will find it harder to hit Mitchell then all his other opponents and he will find out that its easier for him to get hit. All those things Spinks found out against Judah.

I wouldnt have picked Mitchell for Williams this early and he could easily lose. They shouldve stayed fighting righties for now or a lefty with lesser experience

I aggree with you a bit. In my opinion, Williams aint that hard to hit, and i didn't notice he was a southpaw basicly because he get hit with a lot of clearn power shots. I think Mitchell has the power to score a tko and a decicion. I think Mitchell will be able to hit Williams were ever he wishs too. Williams is tall, and has reach, but from what i seen its not enough to keep fighters away from him.

The question is how hard does Williams hit? Mitchell doesn't have the toughest chin and he's been chin checked and ko'd, but not just anybody has been able to do this. In my opinion this sounds like a good match-up and a true test for Williams one in which he may lose.

Yes, i did and he impressed me. But when i made a video of this fight, i noticed a lot of things that Mitchell can take advantage of. For a tall fighter with a good reach advange his opponet was getting to him with ease. But to Williams credit he knew how to get out of danger by holding or coutner punching.

it feels almost criminal when i hear espn label paul williams as the welterweight 'tommy hearns'. at this point, i think paul williams has a little too many holes in his game to compete with the top guys but he is being moved fairly slowly, which is a plus. this is a good fight (albeit against a fading fighter) that will answer alot of questions we may have about paul.

I didn't hear that fromt he espn crew but i may have missed it....from the fight videos i've seen of Hearns, no way! does Williams deserve that status yet, he ain't ko'ing nobody in spectacular fashion as they say Hearns used to. That just wrong.

Dont sleep on Williams just yet. The dude does have mad skill and has the tools to be a dominant fighter but I still think its a dangerous fight. He did get hit too much in his last fight but he's always going to get hit because he is a offensive fighter that throws a million punches. Any time you fight like that, your defense wont be as good. Just like your boy Margarito. Both of them throw alot of punches and use there offense as there defense.

I think they compared him to Hearns because both of them had that freakish height and he throws combos just like Hearns

                  re dlt:
most of us are referring to paul leaving his chin in the air.

paul needs to tuck his chin and shorten up his punches. he is still too much of an arm puncher and does not use any leverage. he does have great variety to his offensive game though.
