Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz To Face Christian Hammer, March 2 At Barclays

Just because Luis Ortiz is the oldest current heavyweight contender, it hardly means he can't also be the most active. The 39-year old Miami-based Cuban southpaw is set for what will be his 5th fight in just a 15-month span. BoxingScene, com has learned that Germany's Christian Hammer has agreed to terms to travel to the United States for a showdown with Ortiz, with their heavyweight clash penciled in for March 2 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Why hasn't AJ reached out to him for a fight?
Probably waiting for him to turn 50 before taking this on.

The Mighty ducker AJ refuses to acknowledge this guys even exists... Lol

Well, if you can't fight the best, fight often, I guess. I think he realises that fights against the top dogs aren't likely to be forthcoming any time soon so he's just trying to stay active even if that means fighting bottom feeders. If I were him though I'd be looking at opponents like Povetkin or Parker rather than Hammer.

Why not try and fight Povetkin or Pulev. Why is it only big miney fights against title holders he doesnt deserve or bums. Fight a contender to earn a shot FFS.

                    Re

Another toughguy here ? Ortiz's last two opponents thought they were gonna intimidate Ortiz, by exaggerating their toughness .

"No" really pisses Ortiz off! His eyes get wide, like, that didnt hurt, here's some more !
