Whyte is a draw in the UK, Ortiz brings nothing to the table. Top contenders have more incentive to fighting Whyte than Ortiz. Same old story. If Hearn really wanted to make the fight happen, I am sure both parties could have reached an agreement.Comment

EDDIE HEARN has confirmed Dillian Whyte will fight on December 22, regardless of whether his opponent is Dereck Chisora.
As of Oct 14
They never intended on fighting Ortiz."We're pretty much there now. Dillian Whyte is boxing December 22,” the promoter confirmed.
"I think Chisora is the guy. We've not had a conversation [with Luis Ortiz].”
Ortiz - who lost to WBC champion Deontay Wilder in March - has been rumoured as a potential opponent for Whyte, with Wilder claiming that he would take on Whyte if he came through the Cuban.
Hearn has disputed Ortiz’s claim that he’s currently in Whyte’s firing line, however.
"Ortiz is boxing on the Wilder vs Fury card. Then he put a story out saying: 'I'll fight you on December 22,’” Hearn added.
"So it hasn't really been discussed or looked at, and if we can't get Chisora, we'll be on to them and also Brezeale.
"But Chisora, I'm hearing he wants to take the fight now, and if we can get it wrapped up by Monday or Tuesday, we're all good to go."Comment

Not a big fan of this fight, but..in reality, who is there for him to fight right now? Options are thin.
