  • DAZN cancellation problems

I took the free trial to watch the last Canelo fight with the idea I'd cancel before 30 days and then maybe add it back when a big fight is occurring. I was not able to get my membership cancelled, they do not make it an easy process.

    Anyone else have problems?

Luckily, it used my Apple ID to create and account and I let the card expire on my phone several months ago and don't use it so they cannot charge me, but I'd still like to cancel my membership.

I knew there would be a catch.

I just cancelled yesterday. I went to the dazn website and clicked cancel and it opened up Amazon for me to sign in( I subscribed thru my Amazon firestick). I unsubscribed but I don't take effect until the next billing cycle 1/22 so I still get to watch the Andrade fight Friday.

Yeah so if I sign up for $10 on Jan. 1 and cancel Jan. 3, they don't refund a pro-rated amount, they keep your payment for the month and continue giving you access until the end of the monthly cycle.

I switched my broadband from Sky to ****** because I was paying Sky for 50 MG download speed and only getting about 10.

                Another Eddie Hearn rip off.

Which is quite good because there are some subscriptions where you lose access immediately

But in those instances, you only get charged partially.

For example, I don't have Showtime, but when they have a fight I want to see, I subscribe through my TV (Comcast X1 box) to Showtime which is typically $12/month. I cancel Showtime after the fight and I only get charged a pro-rated amount. So (1/30 days) * $12.00 = $0.40.

They don't want people doing that twice per year for Canelo fights so that's how they ensure they're getting at least $10 from you each time.

Now at the end of the day, it's just a few dollars, no big deal. But it's food for thought.
