And the USA has another world champion and on basic cable for the fans and new fans to see. Well done Plant. I think he overtrained for the fight though, looked gassed the last 3 rounds. Glad he worked the body early, he should have stayed with that. I wasn’t impressed with his chin, he took a few heavy shots late. I can see his skin will give him some cutting problems over the course of his career.

Great fight to start off the New Years!

Congratulations to Caleb Plant who I picked to lose by KO, he defeated the boogeyman of 168!

He did a superb job at taking away UzCat’s weapons and while landing his own arsenal with surprisingly effective hard punches!

UzCat has a lot of heart but he was clearly out skilled in the skills department by Plant unexpectedly!

Plant showed a solid chin, heart, high ring IQ, speed, combos , good defense and head movement and well rounded footwork! He goes to the body well and can fight on the outside and inside!

He’s trouble for anyone in the division with his style and skill set and now he’s got some
Championship experience!

Plant speed and counters had Uzi hesitant. Once Pant slowed down Uzi was the fresher and brought the fight on.

plus he's a ****y little SOB, so I can't get behind him at all.

That's a good possibility but it's too soon to look ahead. We gotta let Caleb enjoy his moment and worry about that later on. Uzcategui has some skills so no ordinary fighter can just step in the ring and walk thru him so kudos to Caleb.
