Finally something reasonable has come out from a governing body. I hope the rest and UFC will follow. Weight class=fighter is on or under the weight limit in the ring. Period. If you can't - move up and stop kidding yourself. It is a legalized fraud!

All this will do is force fighters to fight at or close to their natural weight, it wont put anyone at a disadvantage because theyll be fighting guys their own size
Or force them to get in shape before they sign for their fights.

Highest weight Canelo has fought was recorded at the Canelo vs Trout fight night weigh-in and he was 172, everything else is speculation, you can't invent a number without verification.

If we abide by these rules Canelo would've had to weigh 169.4 for that particular night, the problem with these is that Trout came in at 171 for that fight so it's fair to say that Trout was a weight bully too.

You can't criticize a fighter for doing a think and not calling another ones for doing the same thing, that's what's called being BIAS.

Kirkland was 173 against Ishida, Bradley, Chavez Jr, Angulo, Spence, Ponce de Leon, Jacobs, Hurd, Crawford there are a ton of fighters who put a ton of weight overnight, not to say that UFC fighters do that at another level, those weight cuts are nasty.

So stop with "Troll" statements that just make you look bad.

The difference between 172 and 174 as the OP said is only two pounds. Canelo did refuse to reveal his weights on fight nights as the OP claimed. So I not surprising that 172 is his highest recorded weight. He also refused to fight at the JM limit on numerous occasions so I don't see how he could be accused of trolling.

              1. You're wrong. Canelo weighed 174 vs angulo. Then after that, he chose to stop weighing in on the day of the fight, but it's pretty logical to think that he's possibly weighed more than that on fight night in matches after that. 2. Nobody has had more catchweight fights in recent history than Canelo. Not even Pacquiao. While Pacquiao did it to weaken larger opponents, Canelo stayed at a lower weight to have a size advantage on smaller opponents, and now its pretty obvious after his positive drug tests, how he made weight. 3. My original point is that the wbc has consistently favored Canelo throughout the yrs. I highly doubt that they'd implement this rule, had Canelo still been fighting at 155 and coming in to fights at 174. It may sound like a conspiracy theory but, it's odd that they chose to implement this now that Canelo is no longer draining himself to the extent that he once was. I mean, we are talking about the same organization that gifted him an undeserving title shot when he was 20 yrs vs an even less deserving opponent just to make him the youngest champion in junior mw history. Also the same organization who has blatantly created belts just for him and shamelessly defended his positive ped tests. And that's why I singled out Canelo, more catch weight fights than anyone, 2 positive ped tests for a weight cutting ped. And a history of favorable treatment from the wbc.

Well it hasn't started well. Hard to discipline fighters when you're not allowed to weigh them!
