How can we justify the Crawford/Khan fight a PPV?

I understand they have to cover purses but how is this considered a PPV fight? Does that mean a Crawford vs Thurman/Porter/Garcia a automatic PPV? i understand the Spence fight a PPV but these fights belong on regular TV. Does Top Rank know it's going to bomb but will be happy if it barely covers their purses?

It's ****** to make it a ppv especially when Danny Garcia vs Granados is the same day on FOX. I guess they have to do what they have to do in order to pay Khan.

ESPN wants to do a PPV fight that's been the plan Lomachenko doesn’t have a name he can fight now that Garcia is fighting Spence and Arum couldn't get Danny or Porter for Crawford

Had toprank still been on HBO this would've been on tv

I thought this was gonna be on espn+. Was that not the purpose of all these apps was to decrease or eliminate ppv. Crawford and lomo were the only reasons I got espn+, but if they are gonna be exclusive to ppv I can cancel that siht

Crawford isnt a PPV fighter and Khan fight isnt expected to be competitive so there is no way to justify. Only way it’s acceptable is if undercards are stacked but even then, i wouldnt buy. Im not a sucker , it’s not about the money.

I will be watching or free though and on HD too so whatever lol.

*** you bob arum. Biggest scumbag in boxing.

This fight more than likely will be on that ESPN app which I still haven't gotten or planning to get soon.

These fights have not had an intriguing fight to attract my membership

You've answered your own question. They obviously believe it will make more money that way.

Hearn has been very vocal that Brook would have been more money for Khan. Suspect Khan is trying to have his cake and eat it.

They need to be careful they don't saturate and dilute the market but I think it will do decent enough numbers.

Personally, it's one that goes on my "happy to take a chance finding a free stream" list.
